Comfigurator 4 - Should we be using this software with existing installations
#1
I've identified a bug with Comfig 3 - on another thread ref ID 0

Chiu has suggested that I use Comfig 4 that gets over the issue (as far as I can see I've NOT actually uploaded the file live only on non connected PC).

I'm really nervous about using Comfig 4 on older existing Comfort installations.

Please bear in mind that we deal with some large properties that historically have large complex installations. I attach .cclx file of a property we are attending tomorrow. It developed a slave com fault and i have a 'new' slave panel (just purchased from Laser but not ARM !) to change out - the old slave is the large square chip type.
The main CPU is still on firmware 7.194

Can you give me some assurance that if I use Comfig 4 that its not all going to go horribly wrong !
So for example what testing as been done with C4 on larger older comfort installations ?
Has anybody else used C4 on older installs ?
Should I update the firmware to 8 ?

Yoiu can continue to use Comfigurator 3 on old installtions. UCM ID 0 should not cause any problems - it is just a display of a nonexisting UCM
You do not need to upgrade the comfort firmware if there are no bugs in the version
there is no attacement in your post, or  on the other posts you have made

You can use both Comfigurator 3 and 4 for yoiur large installtion. Just keep the origional cclx file, open in v4 and use it. If there is anything wrong open the cclx file in Comfigurator 3 and write it

When I try to up load the .cclx file to his forum I've just noticed that briefly appearing in the top RH corner of laptop screen "this type of file is not allowed" !

So my clear interpretation of this is:-

Comfig 4 - ONLY for use on completely new installations

Comfig 3 - Any installation that has already been prog in 3 continue in 3
