Alert Zone not working as expected

After a number of false alarms I have decided to implement most of my zones as alert zones. They are set to either AlertAway or AlertNightAway. I\'ve done a full download but I\'m not getting the behavior expected - the zones are still triggering an alarm immediately. I\'ve checked the Zone types and they are set to alert for home and night mode. Is there some other setting I need to check? 
I have wondered if I\'m actually getting two alerts so I set a dial-out sms on the alert alarm but I don\'t get the sms as I\'d expect if this was the case. Are there any other changes I need to make for alert to work? Thanks,Tas

The alert zones should work. you need 2 different alert zones to cause an Intruder Alarm

Open the UCM I/O Monitor and login
When you trigger the 1st alert zone you should see

< IP0501    Input 5 on, assuming zone 5 is the alert zone
< KL,,       ignore thus
< AL0602  Alert alarm type  activated\\

with no intruder alarm

Check that the Zone types for zone type 3 and 4 (the alert zone types ) have not been changed
