If we have set up remote IP access is it possible for Comfort to send out a regular fault report.
I\'m thinking of other equipment that we install such as NAS drives and Service switches etc where by we get a daily (or weekly depending upon how we set it up) basic fault report.
Such a set up would promote the idea of a service contract as we could provide a minimal charge for the basic monitoring.

Coule perhaps this be used for sending alarm reports, for example push notifications when an alarm is activated etc ?
This would be a fantastic feature to add to comfort. My own set up for example, I have no landline, I have broadband provided via a fixed wireless solution, and I dont wish to pay for a gsm top up solution using gsm dialer.
As I have an ethernet connection via the ethernet ucm, then it would seem to make sense to use this as the route to report alarms etc rather than having to have a seperate device (landline or gsm) which requre an adidtional subscription (landline rental or gsm rental/topup).

Eamon

Our business is heading towards remote monitoring
We do it all the time for SKY boxes so we can remotely switch off and on the power when the SKY box locks up.
We get regular reports for all the remote devices we set up
So if its CCTV we get a weekly report on the drive useage
I suggest for comfort
Weekly report check - may be we do
- battery check
- fault log
- useage log!
Then as wexford says an instant report
- power down
- tel down !
- comms failure
- alarm
Etc etc etc
Can you advise on the code needed to set this up and ill have a go

The business advantage of this is that we can sell the service - it will mean that existing Comfort units are bought up to date with ethernet UCM (I would say that 85% + of the comfort installations that we have on our books don\'t have an Ethernet UCM).
The service would form the basis of a low cost service agreement.

Why not add to the weekly report a Firmware section. Report on what the user has and if an update is available then you could offer it to the user to upgrade all his devices.
Some vendors have a \'Call-Home\' feature. Perhaps Comfort could have something similar.

Thanks for the suggestions
when we add the email capability to the UCM, then it will be possible to send a number of reports

When is the email capability likely to be available?
Would this be a dedicated UCM ?
