#1
Hi,

What do I need to set if I want a perimeter to text me whenever its activacted no matter what state the alarm is in? I dont want it to do anything else i.e set any alarm off.

I have tried using the perimeter alarm type but the systems keeps saying zone trouble

Thanks,

The perimeter alarm type is activated when an active perimeter zone is triggered

Enable the dial out and check the box for the SMS Phone Type
That should send an sms when perimeter occurs
It should not \"say\" zone trouble, do you mean announce  it or text it?

If it does not work then some settngs are not correct

The alarm type settings should not be changed except for the dial out and Phone boxes

Hi,

Thought id re post here as its the same subject.

I need to create a response that sends me a text only when the alarm is set to away or vacation.

The perimeter is currently only set to announce and has no alarm types set.

If someone walks on my property when I am away I only want comfort to send me a text letting me know
the zone has been activated
(so I can check CCTV)

I tried creating a response but it doesnt seem to work.

If AwayHoliday 0 Then
Send SMS mobile
End if.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

You need to set the preimeter Zones not to be activated in \"Zone types\", (Away, Day & Night) but have a triggered response to send sms

Yes, Your zone response for the perimeter zone should be like

If AwayHoliday <> 0 Then
    Send SMS PhoneNo01 1
End If

The key is the Send SMS action in Miscelaneous actions

select a Phone 1 to 8

select a custom SMS message number that you define in the GSM4

To set up a perimeter that texts you whenever it’s activated, regardless of the alarm state, follow these steps:
1. Check Zone Configuration
  • Ensure that the perimeter zone is correctly configured in your system. Make sure it’s set to a valid zone type that supports notifications.
2. Set Zone Type
  • Use a zone type that allows for notifications without triggering an alarm. Look for options like "Notification Only" or "Alert Zone" if available.
3. Notification Settings
  • Go into your notification settings and ensure that you’ve enabled text notifications for the perimeter zone.
4. Troubleshoot Zone Trouble
  • If you’re receiving a "zone trouble" message:
    • Check for any wiring issues if it’s a hardwired zone.
    • Ensure that the sensor is functioning properly and is within range if it’s a wireless sensor.
    • Confirm that the zone is correctly enrolled in the system.
5. Testing
  • After making adjustments, test the system by activating the perimeter to see if you receive the text notification without any alarms being triggered.
If issues persist, consult your system’s manual or contact customer support for further assistance. Let me know if you need more specific guidance!
