It\'s very easy as wexfordman said
this is a standard alarm system battery and the companies i listed earlier will have them in stock
also your local electrical wholesaler may have them

can I just say thanks for all your comments.
I took the cover off and checked the battery and then I bought a new battery today (Maplins, local alarm shop doesn\'t stock batteries). I found on another thread how to stop the alarm going off (3,4,2).
And was easy to replace.... and it worked.
A bimbo like me can do it! (and I even found the right kind of screwdriver)
