DM02 to DS02 Connections
#1
Questions about DS02 Connections from alex2012
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. The terminals 1,2,3,4,-,C,A,P of DS02 will connect directly to DM02 as per connections table in manuals .

Quote:Q1 : apart from those above mentioned terminals ,there is also L+ and L- on DS02. Where do they connect and with what wire ?
These terminals are not used.  Please do not connect

Quote:Q2 : I have one cat 5 (4twisted pair) at DS02, is there a specific way of using these 4 pairs or shall I treat them as 8 separate wires and connect 8 terminals (1234-ACP) with any wire regardless of twisted pair
There is no specific pairs to use for the wiring between DS02 and DM02 as these are only analog signals and not RS485 or data signals which require pairing. However keep the cable away from any noise sources especially mains cable to avoid induced noise or humming

2. I shall connect 4way cable between DM02 and comfort digital part . Also to connect Mic and voice of DM02 to connect DP voice and Mic

Quote:Q1. Are there any other wires required to be connected to JP1 & JP2 on DM02 from door station ?
No
3. Relays
Quote:Kindly clarify how many I will need, where to connect and what type relay I will need , so that I can buy exactly what I need. Will I need a CONTACTOR 240V as well , and where to connect it ?
What is the purpose of the relays you refer to? what do you want to connect the relays to?

Thanks for bringing me to comfort forum
Also thanks for your clarifications .
Kindly advise the following
1. Which wires I need to use for connection between voice / Mic of DM02 to voice Mic on DP at comfort DP

2. Relays
I admit that I don\'t know anything about relays and if I need any or not. However in your reply earlier , you wrote \"Other relays eg RLY01 can be connected to the Outputs of comfort. \"
I have comfort II and DS02/A with DM02, and KP06 and KP0.4 keypads.
So given this configuration , Kindly clarify how many relays I will need, where to connect and what type relay I will need , so that I can buy exactly what I need.
Will I need a CONTACTOR 240V as well , and where to connect it ?

Thanks and regards
Alex

You have a CAT5 cable between DS02 and DM02 correct?
The Mic and voice from DS02 to DM02 can be on the same cable

You do not need any relays at all for the DS02 and DM02 to work

Relays are for switching devices, they are not required  for DS02 communication

Hi the cat 5 I have on DS02 is connecting DS02 to DM02. And I was told that apart from this connection between DS02 and DM02, I also need to connect DM02 to comfort main panel .. and for this two things -
1. Four way cable to digital part RS485
2. To connect voice / Mic of DM02 to voice Mic on DP terminals at comfort (analog part) .. SO FOR THIS CONNECTION WHICH WIRES I NEED TO USE .

IN OTHER WORDS , On DM02

Voice Mic (to Door station) is connected to
DS (USING CAT5)

Voice /Mic (to Comfort) is connected to Comfort ANALOG PART DP TERMINAL ... THIS CONNECTION TO BE MADE USING WHICH WIRES ?

RELAYS
MY QUESTION ABOUT RELAYS IS NOT ONLY FOR WORKING OF DS02 & DM02, MY QUESTION ABOUT RELAYS IS FOR ENTIRE SYSTEM. WHICH CONSISTS OF DM02,DS02, comfort II, texecom 3D pet sensors , Odyssey siren and strobe , optical sensor. Will I need any types of relay connector for all these components to work together ?

If the distance from DM02 to Comfort is not far, ie in the same box or adjacent, then it does not matter what wire to use, CAT5, CAT3, security wires
If it is further away then CAT5 or sccreened  wires will do. Keep the wires away from any mains cables

again the question is what do you intend to connect with relays? Relays are a switch which connects or disconnects something. There is no general answer to your question without knowing your problem. Relays especially when they switch main s voltages should be understaken by an electrician or one with electrical knowledge as it may be dangerous

Sensors, siren, strobe, do not need any relays. The engineer manual can be downloaded from https://www.cytech.biz/installation_manu...ory_id=106 shows how sensors, siren, strobe are connected

HI,
I connected all the following :
COMFORT II
DS02,DM02,Ringer Module
Texecom 3D Petwise PIRs
Texecom Odyssey 3E Siren/strobe
Texecom Smoke sensor
Keypads KP06 and KP04
7.5 AH/ 12 V Lead Acid Battery

And nothing is working as expected Sad

kindly help .

1. Please look at the components above and advise me if anything is incompatible ? e.g. should i use 7 Ah and not 7.5 AH , can a system work with KP06 and KP04 keypads only ?

2.from my previous posts about DS02 and DM02 and control panel connections ,I understood the following :
DS02 to DM02:
1. 1 to SPK, 2 to MIC, 3 & A -12V, C & 4 & - to GND.
2. L+ and L- on DS02 are not to be connected to anything .
DM02 to control panel :
1. 4way cable between DM02 and comfort digital part .
2. Mic and voice of DM02 to connect DP voice and Mic on comfort analog part .

Please advise are there ANY OTHER CONNECTIONS NEEDED between DS02, DM02 and comfort panel ? because DM02 LEDs are not lit and also no bell rings and no sign of life at DS02 .

3.PIR to Comfort connections:
3D petwise has following terminals A/B - ALARM , C -12 V, D - 0V, E/F - TAMPER, G-RLED

The comfort manual only tells to connect to Zone terminals , which means two wires ..Z1 and common . So how do i connect 7 wires of PIR to two terminals at comfort panel ? which two wires to connect to connect here at Z1 and common and where to connect the other wires from PIR ?

4. Comfort to Smoke sensor
Again , kindly help out with all wires connections

5. Comfort to Odyssey external Siren and strobe

The terminals on comfort :
SRN+ , SRN-, STR-, 12VF
The wires from Odyssey :
A(12V), B (BELL), C(TAMP), D(0V), S(STRB)

Kindly match the above .

I understand I asked a lot. I hope you can be generous and patient to help me to move forward .

Thanks and best regards

Alex

There are no incompatible components

I suggest to try connecting Comfort and Keypad first to make sure the system is working before going on to connect other devices

DM02 to Comfort has already been advised

You have to Program Comfigurator using a UCM accordingg to the number of keypads and Door stations

The document Programming with Comfigurator from https://www.cytech.biz/installation_and_...mming.html will explain how to do this

For PIR you have to connect 12V and 0V from Comfort to the power supply of the PIR
Each PIR and smoke sensor should have it own connection diagram which shows how to connect the device to an alarm panel This should show how the tamper is connected

Did you buy the system from a distributor? It may be better to talk to then on the phone to give you direct guidance on how to connect

The following might shed some light (all taken from the Comfort Manual - As advised)

1) Batteries fine. 7.5A/Hr relates to the battery drain over time
2) Ident has advised on this...
3) Comfort / PIR
12v / Connection C (12v)
0v / Connection D (0v)
Zone Input / Connection A/B (Alarm) Check if N/C or N/O
Box Tamper / Connection E/F

Connection G seems proprietary to the PIR

Check also the EOL jumper on Comfort is correct.

For the Power to the PIRs you just connect the supply voltages in parallel - Only the Zones need to go to separate inputs

4) Smoke sensors will require +12v and 0v (same as PIR) and have either a N/C or N/O output (connect these to their own zone and configure zone type)

5) Comfort / Odessay
SRN + / 12v (A)
SRN - / Bell(B) - Check this with instructions
STR - / STRB - Connect Only if -ve activate
12VF / STRB - Connect Only if +ve activate
Common 0v / 0v (D)

I would contact your distributer / Odessay to be safe as you could potentially cause damage to the Comfort Board or alarm if you get this wrong. Also note any \'installer mode\' on the bell (indicated by LED flash sequence) as this may cause you to think there is an issue with the unit.

Hope this helps...

Thanks indent and Vangelis.

As you might have guessed ,I am a novice at security system concepts. I shall have to do some reading on N/C and N/O with respect to PIRs and smoke detectors
EOL- I am not using for PIRs as all wiring is in safe in the walls and the jumpers are shunted properly .however if I understood correct , I shall need to use resistors for smoke detectors .any input on N/C , N/O and EOL resistors is highly appreciated
Vangelis, can you kindly elaborate or show by some diagram what do you mean by \'for the power to PIR, must connect the supply voltage in parallel ..\'
COMFORT / ODYSSEY
How to determine about \'only if -ve activated / only if +ve activated \'

By the way , I took all wiring out and restarted from basics, with only one keypad KP06 (as it has default id =1).it displays \'\'wrong text .press *1 to sync\',however pressing that does not do anything except beeping .how can I get it to synchronise text with control panel .
However all the voice menu is working .I also did alarm disalarm using 1234#. Please note that I don\'t have the UCM to use configurator .

Thanks in advance and warm regards
Alex
