Hi,
I\'m playing with my XM10 trying to get Comfort II to read the status of my X10 modules but can\'t get it to work.
Is this something that should function correctly?
The modules I\'m using are:
TM13U, AM12U, LM12U, LM15EB, AW10U
Cheers Ian

Comfort monitors the status of X10 modules when there is an X10 command to change the state of the module
However it cannot read the status if the X10 state was changed before Comfort is connected to X10
Also if the local button on the X10 module is used to change the state, there is no X10 command issued and Comfort will not know that the state has changed
These are some of the limitations of X10 itself

That document shows the full X10 prototcol but the status request comand was added at a later time and is supported by only a few modules as far as I know, not by the common appliance and lamp modules. I believe the modules you have do not support it although I may be wrong

OK I will check my modules, but does Comfort II + XM10 support it?
The commands are listed in the Action Codes documentation.

The commands are supported for Send to X10 so for example you can send an absolute dimming command to the LD11 which accepts it. LM10 and other some other lamp modules do not accept the command.
However Comfort does not implement receive status as there are or were few modules that could give status

OK thanks,
So my problem is that I want Comfort to keep track of what X10 controlled equiment is on/off.
If comfort was the only thing turning equipment on/off by X10 then I guess that would be easy (i.e using flags).
But I also have some X10 remote controls that I use. Normally these would be configured to directly control the X10 switches, but Comfort will not \'know\' about any state changes triggered by them.
Would the following work (for example)?
Set all my X10 remote controls to house code A and all my switches/appliances to house code B then configure Comfort to listen to inbound instructions from A then issue commands of my choice to devices on house code B?
Of course then I could also then use flags in Comfort to track the states.
Also, can Comfort work on multiple house codes at the same time?
Thanks,
Ian

Yes, that idea will work, if the remote control gets X10 signals onto the power line
