Hi

Can you clarify use of the KD command for me.

I have a client I\'m playing with (home use development) at the moment that runs on the PC and communicates over ethernet etc to UCM.

Historically I\'ve logged on using a usercode typed locally and passed in one go as an \"LI\" action.

Playing now with emulating the  keypad and sending individual \"KD\" commands so I can login as per example in the KD command (page 14 of RS232 manual).

I can do this and see \"SM....\" messages coming back from the UCM ok.

What I\'m unsure about is how to logout;  is it the # key as per keypad or the Endkey or Enterkey etc as per the KD command reference.

Whatever I\'m doing is not right at the moment as whilst I can logon once,  I think I\'ve logged out but trying to login again I get \"NA\" returned from each button press.  The only way I can get the KD\'s to work again is to logon using \"LIxxxx\" (my old method) and then the KD\'s are accepted again.  Whilst this is a weird scenario (double logon?!?)  I guess it\'s because I\'m not actually logging out somehow in the first place.

Some clarification/examples on this would be good to help me progress.

You can logout by using LI with no numbers


When you logout, the KD commands do not work.You have to be logged in for any command to be accepted

Note that if you are logged in and you use KD commands with the code and # key to sign in on the virtual keypad you are actually causing the user menu to turn on. This will be heard if you connect a UCM audio and speaker
Hence pressing other keys will go to the menu option

If you want to enter the code to disarm you should sue the ENTER key instead of the # key - this will not go to the menu

So LOGIN is different to SIGN IN? I thought they were the same :?

LI1234 logs you in for the UCM
LI logs out of the UCM

KD commands can be used to simulate someone  signing in on the keypad but when you are using the UCM to simulate the keypad keys, you have to login  on the UCM using LI1234 otherwise the KD commands will not be accepted

To avoid confusion we should refer to login for the UCM and sign in for the keypad whether the keypad is a physical or virtual one (using the UCM)
