KP04-SS comms fail
#11
I made a mistake on my previous post, I was asking for the firmware of the DM02, not RIO

I think the cause of the problem is the Doorbell button seems to be permanently closed

This can be because the shunt J1 is shorted between 2-3, but the Door station is providing a voltage to the Bell pin. If this is the case then the DM02 may will be detected as a keypad
To fix the problem, change the J1 shunt to 1-2 and reset or switch power to the DM02 off and on

J1 shunt should be at 1-2 if the Door bell button provides a voltage and J1 should be at 2-3 if the button is a dry contact.

OK now we\'re getting somewhere.

I\'m afraid I already have J1 in 1-2 position. I have however confirmed that taking out the \"bell\" connection to the doorphone means everything works as expected (DM02 is recognised as a doorstation). Tried J1 in either position with same results.

So this is a bit strange, I can see that there is about 2v present on the \"bell\" cable and when the button is pressed, it drops to 0v which seems a little bit round the wrong way to me...

I can get things to sort of work by disconnecting the bell, resettnig the DM02 and then connecting the bell at which point the unit tries to dial out as if the bell has been pushed. When the button for more than a sec, I get a \"ding dong\" however thats on release of the button, not a press. Also, is the \"ding dong\" supposed to come out of the doorphone too? Loks like the mic and speaker are permanently on too as I can generate feedback with my hand in certain places. Its almost like the J1 in 1-2 hasnt worked, or I have a bad doorphone?

With J1 at position 1-2, the door station should be providing 0V when the bell is not pressed, and a voltage when the bell is pressed. Having 2V at reset causes the doorbell to be in the keypad intercom mode, where it can intercom to the keypads. This mode is rarely used and will be removed in future

Hence it looks like the Door station is faulty. You shall have to get it replaced or repaired by the supplier. Note that this microDP is not a Cytech product
