Hi
I\'ve been using comfigurator 2.1.2 for a while now on Vista Ultimate against my Comfort Ultra II via UCM/Ethernet. I could use any user code to upload etc
Upgraded to 2.2.0 and now I need to use the Engineer code to upload. Fine but it says my engineer code is invalid and I know it isn\'t.
I returned back to 2.1.2 (keep a backup of your old format file BTW as trying to open 2.2.0 one with 2.1.x gives errors!!) and it was all ok again and I code upload. Reset code on User18 to the code I wanted and uploaded. Put 2.2.0 back on and tried again; same problem. teh Engineer gode has duplicate numbers in it but otherwise I definitely know i\'m typing the right number.
What\'s going on?
Gone back to 2.1.2 now until I can get an answer.
Any ideas appreciated!
Julian

[color=\"red\"][size=\"3\"]In Comfigurator 2.2.0, Engineer Code is required for download. User Code is not allowed for download
In order to auhorise the use of Engineer code, you need to press F0 on the keypad in order to authorise Engineer Code.
This is a protection from unauthorised access by Installers or other people.

OK. I understand now and this works. I seem to have to enter F0 just prior to every time I need to upload as the previous F0 seems to timeout or something? I\'m only putting in the Engineer code in Comfigurator, never used it on the keypad or by telephone by the way.
I can understand the security reasons here; just a bit of a pain when the PC is in one room and the keypad in another. Never mind getting plenty of exercise ;0)

Hi Julian,
the engineer sign in option is disabled, after a reboot, after the alarm is armed, or automatically at midnight.
I find one of the best tools to in your kit is a cordless phone.
It is possible to set the engineer sign option \"ON\" from the phone by doing the following.
Sign in as a user with program menu access.
Press 9, 3, 4, 1 the hang up.
This is a security breach, if you do not have this code, then I am sorry to say but the exercise to walk to the keypad is the only other option.

The default is 6789, preceeded by F0 on the keypad, and followed by #.
It is recommened that you change this from the default, to something that you will not forget. There is no master reset or backdoor, without defaulting the U4 program chip.

Many thanks for a quick response!
Just for my own sanity\'s sake, is this listed in one of the manuals somewhere? I have downloaded all of the pdf manuals and did a search in all of them for engineer code and came up with nothing useful....
Thanks again!

Yuda say, difficult to find it is.
see page 7 of the manual \"Comfort Programming by Keypad, telephone and PC\" file programming.pdf.
Also page 16 of manual \"Engineer Menu Programming\" available from the Cytech web site under the site map then manuals.
