Using Eth2 (Serial CMD) as an input for a Zone
#1
Hi all,

I tried (and failed) with the UCM/ZWave module - mainly as I misunderstood the concept of it\'s workings...

So I now have UCM/Eth2 interaction via serial cmds working, and was wondering if I could do the following...?

I have a ZWave door sensor on the front door, and want to have this trigger the entry / exit delay of Comfort.
This currently reports it\'s \'state\' to my HA and I can have this issue a Serial cmd to Comfort - bit I am unsure about is what cmd to issue (basically simulating the activation of a virtual entry/exit zone via serial cmd)

Any ideas?

If you have UCM/Zwave3, this can be by done by creating a virtual node associating the Door sensor to it, and mapping to a Virtual Zone.
The door sensor becomes a virtual Input say Zone 1. Program Zone 1 as Entry Door zone type. When the door sensor opens, this will start an entry delay just like a physical zone.
Virtual Inputs are possible by KNX and Cbus UCMs where group addresses can be mapped to virtual nodes

With UCM.ETH and without UCM/Zwave this is difficult

One roundabout way is to connect an unused Output eg Zone 10  in Comfort to a Zone Input programmed as Entry Door. Send the command O!0A03 to  Pulse Output 10 for 1 second (ie open and close the door)
This will start an entry delay

Thanks Slychiu

I never got the UCM/Zwave working as it should, however I like your sneaky way of using a Pulsed Output Wink
