Comfort 2 rings before answer
#1
Hello,

I have a problem with my comfort 2 system. When the phone is ringing, after 2 rings comfort answers the incoming call, regardless of my settings in comfigurator --> Telecoms --> Answering.

What can i do to solve this? As someone calls we are not able to get to the phone before comfort takes over..

This is the exact problem I have been having with my system, and there have been others:

I\'m based in the UK, which is supposed to have the correct ring cadences set up, so I don\'t think it\'s that.

Can you give more details about your problem. What is your firmware version?
The other post has Answering machine Bypass turned on. Did you also set Answering Machine Bypass on?

Hello Chiu,

as an extension to my post in the dissappearing recordings problem something new;

I am using a quattrovox, a pabx with 4 inputs. comfort is on input 3 and my home phones on input 1. When i reset comfort, and dial the comfort system through an internal call (port 1 dials to port 3) comfort is answering after the number of rings (ofcourse, answering machine bypass is off). This works every time when i tried it.

Now when i dial my home through my mobile phone (quattrovox is sending the call to port 1 and 3) comfort is not answering the call! Now for the strange part; when i dial comfort again through the internal lines (port1 dials port 3) comfort is not picking up that call from then on! The only solution is resetting comfort again, then it will pick up the phone when called from an inside line as long as no external call is received.

I\'m lost...

I think we may have an idea what causes this.
Comfort determines what it thinks is the silence between rings in order to know when the ringing has stopped.
If the home has a PABX or some other similar device where the call cadence is changed depending on where the call originates, then the algorithm is messed up
We will be making a change in firmware. Let me have your complete address and contact telephone number so we can send you a replacement to try out the fix

Hello Chiu,

I sent my details to you (private message). Does the firmware also fix the disappearing greeting message / user name problem?

Thanks in advance,

Not the disappearing message problem
Can you duplicate this consisitently? If so can you describe the sequence?

This indicates that the silence between rings for the external call is different from that of internal call
Can you measure what the rining cadence is like for exterenal and internal calls
eg 4 seconds ring, 2 seconds silence (for UK)
or 0.4 seconds ring, 0.2 seconds silence, 0.4 seconds ring, 2 seconds silence for the UK
This will help us determine how to fix this condition

No, comfort does not answer with an external call right after a reset. Also when i try a internal call after this external call comfort also does not answer (as before). When i reset comfort again and place an internal call, comfort is answering fine.

Hello Chiu,

THe ring cadence is about the same for internal and external calls,  i cannot detect much difference. The silence between rings is about 5 seconds, the ring is about 2 seconds

Silence between rings of 5.5 seconds is the limit which Comfort considers the end of call so that could be the reason why it does not answer

Is that loger ring silence because it is behind the PABX or VOIP gateway?
