what is the technical difference between SEM and RIO modules

Hi,
what is the technical difference between SEM and RIO modules ?

[color=\"#004080\"][font=\"Verdana, sans-serif\"]also can be connected receives Comfort IR codes to SEM[/font][/color]
or i mean can be use the same function (for example [color=\"#004080\"][font=\"Verdana, sans-serif\"]receives Comfort IR codes , receives X10) [/font][/color]for RIO to SEM

RIO has 8 inputs and 8outputs, but the Inouts cannot be used as alarm zones

The RIO inputs can be connected to IR receiver to receive Comfort IR codes from the RC01

RIO and Comfort/SEM outputs are the same

mean can be using the same function for input and output for SEM and RIO but only only alarm input not using in RIO

1. Alarm input is not possible for RIO
2. RIO input can be used for IR receiver but  Comfort, LEM or SEM Input cannot be used for IR receiver
