I am just commissioning my alarm. I am getting a battery warning controller. I charged the battery with a optimate pro charger after I had this for 5 days. Any tips on what it is and why I can not reset it?

Do this test
Connect the battery to the system and switch on the power When Comfort has announced, switch off the AC power Does Comfort remain on? This tests the battery voltage and whether it can power the system. Measure the battery voltage at the terminals. It should be 12V. The battery voltage can only be measured when there is a load. Without any connection, bad batteries may have 12V measurement Which Comfort do you have Comfort 1 or 2, and is it a new system? If it is Comfort 1, look for the charging bulbs near the battery connector. They may be burned Comfort 2 does not have this problem

I tested it. the unit stays on when I remove the power, and reports power failure.
I cant test the voltage as I dont have a volt meter (but will get one tomorrow). I do have an optimate pro battery charger and i sent the battery to new and it carried out a full test. If the battery had a genuine issue it would show on that charger given its capability ie before it charges it tests the battery fully. its a Comfort II ULTRA Control Panel,

Can you give me the serial number of the Comfort PCB, it should be C followed by 6 numbers eg C123456 printed on a label

yep the number is C059619

Thanks, that is a new system
When you get hold of the mutlimeter, please check two things

ok the numbers
1 power off battery on only 13.4v but it drains very fast. ie just holding the multimeter it went from 13.4 to 12.9 2. power on, battery disconnected 13.7v in terms of modules. There is LEM, zwave and the ethernet module.

When you say the battery voltage goes down very fast from 13.4 to 12.9, does it continue to go down to below 12V when the AC power is off?
A good battery should go down quickly to slightly above 12V and drain slowly from that point. A low battery voltage is 11.5V.

Well after 15 minutes its steadied at 12.78 and its very slowly going down.

That is the normal behaviour
After resetting Comfort, after how long do you get the Low battery message? It may be detecting the low battery wrongly if the low battery alarm still occurs. If so you can get a replacement from your supplier |
