Comfort II panel resetting itself
#1
This morning I forgot to switch the alarm off and on my way out I triggered the alarm, as I was running back to the Keypad, the Panel reset and the keypad started announcing my Startup Response.

What could cause that?

I have Comfort II Ultra (firmware 6.028) and am using Comfigurator V3.5.6.0.

Do you have a backup battery connected? If not and the bellboxes take too much current, this could reset Comfort.

Yes, I have a backup battery connected.

Check current draw of bell box under full alarm. If it exceeds Comforts current rating then you could switch it to SCB mode (if not already configured).

Did it reset back to Away mode? Bit unnerving if you could cause a reset to unarmed status!

Comfort supplies a max of 1A  to everything by itself, so a few sirens may exceed the limit. However with a backup battery of the correct capacity (7AH), the battery will provide the additional current when needed, but still limited to 1.6A so if the sirens take more than that this could trip the resettable fuse

Perhaps you can repeat the sequence and see if the same thing happens (without the running part)
If it does, it could be a programming problem, If your responses call themselves, they cause an endless loop, causing the system to crash and reset itself

eg
Response A - Do Response B
Response B - Do Response C
Response C - Do Response A

If the system is armed and you reset it, the system will arm back to the previous mode, so you cannot disarm the system by resetting it

I repeated the sequence (without the running part), and after waiting for a while, I was convinced that all is well, and cleared the alarm. A few seconds after that, the Panel reset again.

I had a look at Responses I cannot see anything obvious in there.

we could not duplicate the problem
Please send the event log to us for further investigation thanks

An update in the investigation;
So far using the same setup and firmware we have not been able to duplicate the reseting phenomenon, so there may be some other factor with the system, which needs more information and testing from your side

I have moved the siren to a slave panel, as well as the rest of the UCMs I have, but I still get the same issue.
