The Comfort market has slowed right down over recent years and I was trying to think of ways to give it a kick start.
Here is an idea.
How about we (OK Household Automation Ltd) offer a Comfort \"Comfort\" Package - the customer specifies what it is they want - number of keypads; doorphone; PIR\'s etc - we as suppliers/installers then put together a WORKING comfort unit package.
You as the customer receive an out of the box solution - e.g. it comes with a three pin plug and if you power it up it all works (would be mounted on a jig of some sort - for the re-seller installer to sort out).
This would mean to be able to install the product:
- The customer could DIY.
- The Customer could get the local alarm company (low cost labour) to carry out the install!

That\'s a great idea.
As an end user, I have had Comfort installed for nearly a year. I think it is a great system, although with a steep learning curve. I did a self-build, and was on a tight budget. I researched the market, and came across the Comfort system. My builder\'s alarm guy of course had never heard of it, but agreed to run the cables, install detectors and mount the panel, provided I took responsibility for programming.
This didn\'t ultimately work out so well, as I was the recipient of the \'wiring tampers in series\' post Household Automation posted a few weeks ago. With things not working out and some problems with the panel itself, I called in Household Automation to sort things out. We ended up needing to effectively rewire the panel, and install a \'clean\' WORKING programme. That done, the system now seems to be very stable, and I have been able to gradually restore the majority of the automation programming.
Such a solution would therefore have been ideal for me. Next time. But my sincere thanks to Household Automation for sorting out my current install!

If there is anybody out there that would like to \'beta test this one\' then id be really interested.
I already have a set questionnaire but really need to prove the concept.

CBUS shop have kindly said that they will ad a link.
I really could do with some potential customers.
Either end users
or
Installers / electricians / builders / developers.

We are in the process of creating our first BETA package.
In order to make the installation \'user friendly\' we are going to incorporate a marshaling strip whereby we have a connection block and the incoming cables relate to numbers on the blocks.
We are looking to re-case the unit or tag a similar box onto the side/top.
Any thoughts or suggestions most welcome.

How about some pictures? Why is it a BETA package? that means the 1st users are beta testers

Correct the first users are BETA -
We want to get feedback and improve, we also don\'t want to use people as guinea pigs without their knowledge.

This is exactly what I\'ve been looking for. I\'m new to the \'Comfort\' system and have been hunting around to find enough information for me to be happy to DIY.
A \'bundle\' package that will work out of the box (after connecting detectors, etc) would be perfect for me!
Would there be a small discount for the bulk purchase, or would it be retailed at the same price as buying everything individually?
