Delay arming if blinds are opened
#1
Hello and first of all, scuse me for my bad english.

I am trying to do a simple thing, but i am spending much time trying a thing or another thing...... so maybe you can help me doing the better way surely without trying anymore.

This is the fact:

I have 8 automatic blinds connected to the outputs relays.
The first relay is able to \'open\' and the second to \'close\' the first blind. The tirdh to \'open\' and the fourth to \'close\' the second blind and so on.

Well, when i arm the system, i need the system to close every blinds ans then, the system, if some of these blind is opened, has to wait about 40 seconds. This is the time i am sure the blinds are closed... Then, the system can go in night or away mode.

Can you please suggest a \'polite\' way to do this?

Thank you

Emanuele from Italy

You can use the Start Arming Response in Events > Misc Events
The Start Arrming Response is done when you press any of the arming keys Away, Night, Day or initiate an arming command from the telephone

In the Start Arming Response, you can put in the actions to close the blinds
eg
Pulse Output 1 for 20 (ie 1 second pulse)
Pulse Output 3 for 20
Pulse Output 5 for 20
Pulse Output 7 for 20

this assumes Output 1,3,5,7 outputs control the relays for closing the 4 blinds. A pulse is sent to each output to close the relays

You can extend the Night Exit Time to 40 seconds so it willl wait that long before arming to night Mode

For Arming to Away Mode, you can change the exit time to 40 seconds, however  the Exit time is terminated when you close the door, so if you exit before the curtains fully close the system will be armed. Perhaps you can wait for the curtians to close before going out of the door

Ok.
But i was thinking to add a timer.
If the blinds are opened, the timer starts and the system will arm only when the timer has elapsed.
Do you think it is possible?

I dont think the system will know if the blinds are open or not so you will have to always delay for 40 seconds, so why not use the Exit delays for that?

I thought putting a \'flag\' so the system \'knows\' the outputs opened and closed...... but i followed your simpliest way.

Ok, i did it and everything seems going ok, but when arming, i hear continuosly \"zone 20, zone 21, zone 22, zone 23, zone 24, zone 25\'.........
It\'s because tese are \'opened zones\' until these are completely close.

Can i stop speaking these zones while arming?

The zones that are announced are programmed as Immediate, ie will cause alarm when armed
If they are not security zones program them as Switch Normally Open or Swicth Normmally Closed
