Fingerprint reader
#1
We have 2 installations with FP readers and I cannot get either of them to run user responses.  The fingerprints register OK but nothing happens when the FP is read by the system

The FPs are at present all Masters, could this have something to do with it.  The appropriate leds are flashing.  The UCM was found by Comfigurator 3 but only has an other type as there isn\'t an Access type.  Ther seems no way to test it other than run responses.

Thanks

Are you sure the responses did not run?

Can you use the Comfort Bus Monitor (in Tools of Comfigurator 3), enter yiur user code and press Start. Look for any message on the screen when the fingerprint is recognised. This will show if the UCM/FPR is sending the message to Coomfort

I was using a resonse that runs when triggered elsewhere but it produced no result when run from the user responses.  I\'ll try looking at activity next week

Thanks

When you say the LEDs are flashing do you mean D9 and D10 which means it is communicating? Could the ID of the UCM be the same as another UCM in the system which could also resullt in both leds flashing?

Yes the leds on the UCM were flashing. There are 3 UCMs the web server is 2 (default but I didn\'t check) and the FP is 3. All three were correctly identified when Comfigurator scanned for them.

What is the version of the Comforts? Very old firmware may not support the FPR responses

Hi I\'m now at the other fingerprint installation. The firmware number is 5.121 and the other system is 5.113. When the FP is read there is no data flowing according to D2 or D3. When I set up the user responses I assumed that Comfigurator would set the locations and I would not have to set them through the engineer menu as stated in the manual.

If there is no data received or sent I suspect that the connections between the UCM/FPR and the Finderprint reader are incorrect

The Reader data RD and TD should be connected to JP1 and not JP4
Also watch the polarity. TD+ should go to KA and RD- should go to KB
If possible send me a picture of the connections if there is still a problem

I have made up a test bed system with only a keypad, UCM05 and a FP reader.  It is connected exactly as specified in the manual.   It still doesn\'t pass data to the UCM Access.  A photo is attached.

In the photo the ID of the UCM seems to be set to 2, not 3. SW7 A is removed and B and C are inserted? For ID=3, B should be removed and the others inserted
