Zone Setup
#1
Hi

I\'m trying to figure out the correct zone type (settings) for my rain sensor which I currently have attached to zone 13.

I currently have it set up as type \"MonitorNO\" and during daylight time want it to announce rain start and  stop on the keypad. I have 2 responses to do this on the On and Off conditions which work fine and say \"Rain Start\", \"Rain End\" etc

Trouble is at night, and I cant say it is every time,  I am getting an announcement on the keypad too for this zone;  it just announces \"Zone 13\".  What setting could be causing this and more importantly how do I stop?

I am using the comfort beta firmware (for the Temp conversion) but this has been happening on and off before this version as well.

Hi,

I have my rain sensor set to SwitchNO.  It works perfectly.

Cheers.

Hi

I\'m using this for my water level sensors so programmed to dial out if I get an overflow situation but thanks.

I\'ve set MonitorNO to be the same as SwitchNO but without the dialout.

See if that\'s any better.

Thanks for ideas.

The Monitor N/O zone type is Immediate in all modes. An Immediate zone will always be announced when it is triggered

The Switch N/O is inactive in all modes, ie it does not trigger any alarm type and hence does not dial out. Its only purpose is to activate the Zone On and Off Response

Of course these are the default settings and they can be changed if necessary

This explains why your rain sensor is being announced

If your water level sensors are using SwitchNO with the default settings ie inactive in all modes  then it will not be able to dial out because it will not cause any alarm, which is the only way that it can dial out
