- DMStewart - 03-02-2019 One of my Zones, and external door, creates a \"Zone Trouble\" alarm when the door is opened, even though the Security System is un-armed. I can arm the system even if this alarm was previously triggered. Why is that, what does it mean, and how can I fix the issue - whatever it is. - slychiu - 03-02-2019 Zone Trouble is caused by a mismatch of the Zone shunts and End of line resistorssee the topic at http://www.comfortforums.com/forum127/4935.html If EOL resistors are installed at the sensor, then the Zone shunt for the zone should be plugged in the 3 position shunt in the position AWAY from the terminal block. If NO EOL resistor has been installed at the zone, then the shunt should be closer to the terminal block If the shunt is in the wrong position or has fallen out, or the shunt has corroded so as to lose contact with the header then you will get zone trouble Zone Trouble can also be caused ny short circuit of the zine wires to another voltage - DMStewart - 03-02-2019 Thanks for the quick response, LY. The system is nearly 20 years old, and this error has only recently started. What do I need to eliminate the problem? - slychiu - 03-02-2019 Check the zone shunt position for that zone. Perhaps it has fallen off. Change the shunt for another one in case there is corrosion If these do not solve the problem perhaps it is time for an upgrade - Home - 03-04-2019 Of course it could be wired EOL and one of the resistors has failed?
