- juwi_uk - 05-03-2014 At the moment I have a mix of KP04 and one KP06 keypad. I want to replace the KP04\'s with KP06\'s but my wife wont have another in the house! Why; because she says (as a non technical user) she cant turn down the sound as she can on the KP04. On the KP04 she can turn the rotary volume knob on the side to turn off the sound completely. On the KP06 she say using the volume buttons does not mute all sounds. Can you advise the difference in operation between the 2 when it comes to sound volume (for any sound that can be generated on them)? Is she right? Also can the KP volume be controlled from a response so say at dusk or explicit time period the volume can be auto reduced? Julian - ident - 05-03-2014 There are 2 types of volume;
Announcement volume is controlled by Configuration >VoiceSettings > Keypad Announcement Volume There is an action Keypad Announcement On/Off for each keypad ID where you can set volume based on Time Programs For KP04 obviously the volume control knob can turn off all volume but this may be bad as alarms may occur that you must hear I think KP06 is a better choice - juwi_uk - 05-03-2014 So I have an announcement on a zone for when my back door opens during the day. This is fine but at night it wakes us up when my kid goes outside for a midnight smoke. Which sound button is controlling that? J ps...because not getting any sleep makes me write grumpy forum postings! :0) - ident - 05-03-2014 You can put a condition on the Announce zone action on the zone response If Night Time = 0 then announce zone - juwi_uk - 05-03-2014 Can I say to turn off at 11pm? - ident - 05-03-2014 yes, and turn on in the morning |
