Hi,
My system configuration is :
ULT II
DS02 and DM02 and RGR04
KP04 and KP06
UCM /USB
All with latest firmware.

1. How to get the answering machine to work???
I have recorded the greeting message and also set the \"rings before answer-security off\" to 5. however when i call my landline , comfort does not answer my call .

What have i missed ?

2. I have an electric lock on the door . And will like to open the door when my phone rings . Please explain about lock power ? how do i provide this lock power to my main entry door . Subsequently , how i make comfort open the electric lock for my main door

I read and changed the \'open door response\' to Pulseoutput11sec .will i need to do anything else ?

Thanks

Thanks

Did you connect the incoming telephone line to  Comfort TEL IN?
If so, try disconnecting all phones from TEL OUT and try again. Sometimes one of the telephones may have leakage which causes the system not to answer

The power to the lock should not come from Comfort. The electric lock should come with its own power supply
Comfort should open the lock by pulsing the relay in parallel with the door open pushbutton

Open door Response is activated by pressing \"7 to Open Door\" in the door station menu. If you Pulse Output 1 then you need to connect a Relay to Output 1

You can make use of the 2 relays in DM02. There is an action to Pulse the relays on the DM02 instead of the outputs
Please refer to the DM02 manual from https://www.cytech.biz/door_station_manuals.html

1. I had only one telephone connected to tel out and after removing it , the comfort answered the call and answering machine is working .. THANKS A TON SIR . Now i will have to buy all new phones to use . Is there advice on what types of phones to use ( those that won\'t \'leak\')?

2. Electric Lock Power : Are you saying that i should take power for the lock directly from electric sockets ?

3. I like to follow the suggestion to use K2 relay on DM02 to open the door and i added a response \"Open Door 1 2 100 \", however while using K2, how the connection to lock will change ? I assume it wont use outputs and The positive from mains goes to lock and negative to K2 and then to Lock ?? Is the current from mains sockets not too strong for comfort to handle ? Do i need to add any transformers ?

best regards

No, do NOT do that. You must follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer.

The K1 and K2 relays are meant for low voltage (12V) relays only
Do NOT connect to mains power under any circumstances as this would be dangerous. You need to add another relay to connect to 230V. It is better to consult an electrician or the lock manufacturer for the correct way to connect a relay  to open the lock.

Hi,

I connected the K2 ( for door ) taking power from the 12 V standby battery that is already connected to comfort . and the door lock is opening as expected with key 7 press .

So functionwise , it seems ok to do so , however Kindly advice if it affects any thing else.

Thanks and regards

Difficult to know without knowing how much current the electric strike takes from 12V

If it is too high, ie more than a few hundred milliamps, it may be too much for the charging circuit and teh battery could be drained
I suggest using a separate 12V power supply rather than Comfort
