Counter values after reset? - Printable Version +- Comfort Automation/ Security System Forums (https://www.comfortforums.com) +-- Forum: Third Party (interfacing to Comfort) (https://www.comfortforums.com/forum-5.html) +--- Forum: CBus (https://www.comfortforums.com/forum-11.html) +--- Thread: Counter values after reset? (/thread-1683.html) |
- Ingo - 11-26-2009 Is there a way, after a Comfort reset, to get all the \'real\' counter values from CBus again? If I had a CBus light dimmed at 50% and reset Comfort it will now show me that, the counter associated with the light, is 100% on, which it isn\'t. Does a Comfort reset only get the \'state\' of a counter, either On or Off, or is there some way I can get the actual counter values? Maybe a future firmware release??? Ingo - slychiu - 11-27-2009 The CBus SIM Module provides the state of the group address at reset (ON or off) and not its level if dimmed. Reset of Comfort should be a rare event so it should not be a big issue. - Ingo - 11-27-2009 Thanks Chiu, I agree that a reset does not happen very often but it would have been nice to get the actual value instead of the state. Ingo - juwi_uk - 11-27-2009 Chiu, As you say reset is not that common to have to reset, but PC based applications accessing comfort are, so it would be nice to somehow request counters in bulk at application startup rather than have to ask for each one individually. In my ComfortClient App I intelligently look sign on at what counters are configured in the system (across floorplans and the UI Control Panel) and only ask for those specifically. One look in monitor after starting WizComfort though and I see it (as it has a generic UI) requesting every single counter value over the bus one at a time. Surely a more efficient way of requesting starting state would be good. Regards Julian - slychiu - 11-28-2009 A message to get all the counter values wil be useful, similarly for Flags, and sensors. That may be a future enhancement requireing new UCM and Comfort firmware |
