Hi again

When I first set my Comfort system up, I bought a local expansion module (LEM01) that gave me 8 extra inputs and 8 more outputs.

I\'ve used all the inputs up now, but haven\'t used any ouputs, and have started to think of some extra inputs I might want to use.

What would be the next step to add further inputs ?

I guess I could just replace the LEM01 with a LEM03 ?

What other options are there:
 - If I were to buy a SEM01 or SEM02, could I fit these in the original enclosure, and how would they connect to the existing board ?
 - If I were to buy a remote I/O unit (RIO01), how does this connect to comfort - can it be sited remotely and receive power remotely, or would it need a local PSU ? Could it be connected back to comfort over standard alarm cable or cat5 ?

Thanks for any info, need to weigh up the options and costs Smile

Cheers
Lee

The thread title should of course say \"more\" and not \"moe\" Smile

You can add an LEM03 with 16 inputs and 0 outputs. This would replace your LEM01 as only one of them can be connected at one time via the flat cable. Hence you end up with 16 inputs and 8 outputs. This is not expandable unless you replace the LEM03 with the Slave

SEM01 and SEM02 is without enclosure and transformer. It may be difficult to mount in the same enclosure as Comfort
SEM01 is the same size as the Comfort PCB and you need a transformer so a SEP01 with enclosure and transformer is receommended
SEM02 is powered from Comfort and does not have its own power. You may be able to squeeze it in the same box it it would be tight

The SEP01-M2 has its own transformer and needs its own battery and can be mounted remotely connected by CAT5 cable, not alarm cable which is not twisted pairs The SEP01 can supply 1 A of current

RIO01 can be sited remotely and can obtain power from the main system along the same CAT5 cable but make sure that Comfort can supply all the current (max 1A)
Also RIO01 is not able to work as alarm inputs

Thanks for the reply.

If I replace the LEM01 with an LEM03, do I end up with 24 inputs and 8 outputs in total (16 from the LEM03, 8 on the base board) ?

I think that\'s probably the best route for now.
Wish I\'d thought ahead and just bought the LEM03 in the first place !
