- carlford - 05-11-2017 Oh forgot my zip code is 40216 in the USA Carl - carlford - 05-11-2017 tech07 I misstated that I was trying to make sure comfort1 using comfigurator2 will work with ucm/usb ??? as quoted just below the pic of the rs232. just trying to clarify about the usb usage. I do realize that windows will stop the usage of comfigurator2 but for now a minimal install on a laptop will do for reprogramming issues. This will probably outlast me and that\'s where I\'m going. Thanks for your help. Carl Frod - slychiu - 05-11-2017 according to that post UCM/usb works with Comfigurator 2. However Comfigurator 2 does not recognise USB so you have to select the COM port which the USB driver takes - carlford - 05-11-2017 so the ucm/usb will work with comfort1 with comfigurator2 if the pc usb port is reconfigured to comm port. So what is the correct ucm/usb to use ?? Thanks for looking as I know you probably have lots of other things than this old stuff to do. It does though look like there are a few other clients that are interested in keeping their current setups alive. At least until Windows overcomes. Thanks and have a good day. Carl Ford - carlford - 05-11-2017 Here\'s another way to look at this. Suppose you have a pc that had no serial port could you configure a usb port to say a comm2 port (using device manager) and then with the right ucm/usb comfigurator2 would work since it requires a comm port. Would this be work around for a bad ucm01 ??? again this is a comfort1 system. The other way would to be use a usb to serial converter and use ucm01. but then the original problem of bad ucm01\'s is not overcome. just food for thought. Respectfully, Carl Ford - slychiu - 05-11-2017 using device manage to assign COM port should work but I dont understand how you want to get arpound a bad UCM01 You need a working ucm, a bad one will not work - carlford - 05-11-2017 I want to get around the rs232 one. Since there are no more of them but there seems to be more of the ucm/usb. The work around is for anyone else that ends up in my situation with no comfort1 access. Thank you Carl - carlford - 07-11-2017 I finally got back to the comfort1 and am using comfigurator3 with good results except for the scanning thing and a few status indicators not working. Any way to stop if from doing it\'s own scan ??? If not I still want to thank everyone for helping me out. Carl - slychiu - 07-12-2017 This topic is addressed here http://www.comfortforums.com/view_topic.php?id=4686&forum_id=73&jump_to=22205#p22205 - carlford - 07-12-2017 Got it and again thanks Carl |
