Sorry, I should have said "there is a TransmitX10 command in the HS plug-in", not "in HS". This is the plug-in command that I'm referring to, the HS command for direct control is simply hs.Transmit, whereas the plug-in command is hs.PlugIn("pjcComfort2").TransmitX10 or hs.PlugIn("pjcComfort2").Transmit. So my understanding is that this function does send the command to Comfort. I haven't tested it myself, but from the plug-in documentation:

TransmitX10 (HouseCode, UnitCode, FunctionCode, RepeatCycles)

This routine is a version of the Transmit function that is dedicated to sending X10 commands to Comfort. It simplifies the process by allowing you to uses decimal values rather than the Hex values required by the "X!" command.

I've been using the plugin with HS2. I want to upgrade to HS3 but no sign of a Plugin that works with HS3 - unless anybody knows better :-)

A quick update.
There has been no sign of anybody developing a plugin for HS3.
I have taken a different route and so far so good.
I have an Arduino board, there is an Arduino plugin for HS3.
I have connected the Arduino to the outputs of Comfort. When an output is triggered it changes the state of the Arduino input.
A proper plugin would be nice - but this solution will do for now.

How many Comfort users would like to have a Homeseer plug in for Comfort?

What should this do?

I make extensive use of comfort and homeseer integration. Using the plug-in for homeseer2 to access all inputs (48 inputs used in all). Comfort outputs are also used and controlled via a plug-in by homeseer (I also make extensive use of Ethernet relay boards controlled by homeseer).

I shall be moving house in the next 12 months. Homeseer is at the heart of my home automation - with a considerable amount of coding that I will reuse. Without an HS3 plugin - I will probably look to using a different security/control system when I move... but would love to continue using what I already know.

Is there anyone who could do a HS3 plug in for comfort, if there is support from Cytech?

This is from a previous post regarding X10 performance.......

I have found in the past I have had problems with X10 signals and bought a repeater to boost signals ect.
Although I am now reducing the number of X10 modules on my system (not overly keen on X0 although it has its uses)I found that if the XM10E is fitted directly on its own radial circuit (shortest possible cable length) with no other elements on that circuit it had the effect of being very effective and all the x10 modules work well, since I have done this I have had no problems with X10. I suspect most people are just plugging the module into existing circuits which is affected by other equipment that effects the signals it transmits

This would be more useful if it were posted on the X10 forum

I use the Homeseer plugin for logging and tracking of everything in Comfort and CBUS. The PJC plugin is very flakey and is constantly crashing. I use HS2.

If there was a decent Comfort plugin, and it only came for HS3, I'd upgrade Homeseer for sure.

So +++1 from me, please. Take my money.

An HS3 plugin would be great.
However, as there doesn't seem to be one on the horizon I took a different approach. I added z-wave to both HS3 and Comfort and now communicate that way.

Hello and first of all, scuse me for my bad english.
I am using Hs2 from many years. Now, hs2 is not longer support because homeseer launch hs3 and they don't sell the pjc plugin not more.
I have formatted my old pc and required new password for new pc, but homeseer don't support more, so, i have to find a new way to communicate with pc. Homeseer hs2 can read and write serial commands on com port without any plugin.I can read and send easily string text from homeseer without any plugins and this can be done easili with Hs3 too.

So, we only can be able to decode input commands from Comfort in order to monitor the status of the devices, and weonly can be able to send a serial command to Comfort in order to arm, disarm and do something.....

For example:

A door is open, Comfort send a serial command text string to COM port like "Door 1 open". Homeseer receive text string.

Homeseer send a text string "Arm Away mode" to Com port, Comfort receive this and goes in "Away mode".

Is it possible to do in an "easy way"?

Download the Comfort serial interface protocol from http://www.cytech.biz/serial_interface_protocol.html
This is a list of all commands to and from the UCM which is understood by Comfort. This is used by Comfigurator, ComfottClient and othewr software to commmu8nicate with Comfort
You need either ETH03 or Rs232 or RS485 depending on what HS3 interface is

Having had an issue with my z-wave system I decided to have a look at some sort of direct communication between Comfort and Homeseer again.
I have an ETH03 and HomeSeer HS3.
I should say here I am not a programmer but am happy to try a few things.
In Homeseer there is a plugin that can both send and receive commands over IP. "drhsIpPlugIn"
It seems to me that it may be possible to use this for the communication.
To begin with I am hoping to monitor comfort inputs in Homeseer. That would give me the opportunity to run events in Homeseer when an input changes in Comfort.
Am I right in thinking that when an input in Comfort changes state that is effectively transmitted via ETH03?

Most events in comfort will result in messages via ETH03for example, Input 8 On and off will send "IP0801" and "IP0800" respectively
The Comfort Serial protocol details all the messages and commands

Thanks for the reply. Are the input numbers hexdecimal? I'm testing with input 10.
What format does comfort send in? The plugin I am experimenting has the choices;URL-EncodedRaw TextBinaryC Escaped
