Hi,

How do update comfort zone status to cbus (let say at system startup). The idea is the corresponding zone will trigger Cbus relay. (e.g Zone one will trigger group 1 etc). FYI I am using comfort file system 34 and I only have cbus-ucm,cbus relays installed at the location.

Thank you.

In the Zone ON and Off Response, you just program the CBus command. When the zone changes, the Cbus commands wil be sent out

Note that at startup, only Zones which are ON will trigger their ON response, not those which are OFF.

You can use the same method to indicate zones on or off in Cbus switches or touchscreen

Hi. Thanks for the info. I've programmed zone on/off response to toggle cbus group. So what I did was I opened some windows and then initiated the engineer reset but it didnt seem to update the zone status to cbus on system start up.All the groups are in Off state. But it does send out the signal on/offf i open and close the zone right after that.

At system reset, it takes some time for th UCM/CBus to initialise the communications with the CBus. You will notice on the UCM/CBUS that therei s some activity with ERROR and BUSY before the RDY green led comes on. Once this is achieved than the UCM/CBUS is ready for communications with CBUS
Hence the zone changes  will only report after about 10 to 20 seconds after reset

Hi, I did that and it seemed to work fine for a couple of hours, but right after I redownloaded the program (for changes), it has stop from responding.I've tried a few steps which were by resetting the main panel, resetting the ucm and redownloaded the program but with no luck. Comfort still capable to send normal lighting program such as Night lighs On (under home control) but it has lost the capability to send out the zone status. What could be wrong with my program? Attached is the program that I did for this project. Please look at zone on and off response. Thank you.

Do you mean that Cbus commands cannot be sent from Comfort? Check the LEDs on the UCM/CBUS according to the UCM/CBUS Manual. When sening out a command to CBus, the BUSY2 led should blink, when receiving Cbus messages the BUSY 1 should blink. If ERR LEED is on it means there is no connection to Cbus

The Night Lights menu in Home Control has a NULL response so itcannot work
Make other home control menus to control some Cbus lights

Actually it is not all of the commands. It happened only to On/off response. Today I've upgraded the software from 2.2.1 to 2.2.2. After redownloaded the program with the new software, it seems to work fine. The Zone On/Off responses work perfectly.Hopefully it will stay that way.
And on the home control menu, I left the response to NULL on purpose. I use that onlt when I need to test the program.

There  is no reason why it will not work with 2.2.1 or 2.2.2
If you have problems in future, use the Monitor Mode on Comfigurator (or Mindit) and check the messages when the zone goes ON and OFF

Ok. So upgrading the software will not  solve this issue. I will be there on Monday and will do more testing on that. WIll let you know the outcome.

Did you eventually get this CBUS update right? I have a similar problem, to put it simply, I use HomeGate on the CBUS side to tell me what zones are currently triggered. It works fine once you've 'triggered' all the zones to get both sides in sync.

I traced this to startup issues, Minder Pro runs permanently (batteries), after a power failure the Homegate PC needs to start and sync to the CBUS. When this happens the status of eg. an open window is NOT reflected on CBUS. I think Minder only sends on a trigger - which is normal.

My question is, can I send a CBUS command to Minder Pro to refresh the current security status? From configurator I did a system reset and then all the triggers came flooding back in. What will happen if I do this while armed?

Below is the HomeGate log file right after a system reset command:

1/20/2008 2:11:29 PM  C-Bus Rx : Ramp Security(1), Group 4 - Pantry Door On over 4s
1/20/2008 2:11:33 PM  C-Bus Rx : Ramp Security(1), Group 23 - Guest Bedroom Window On over 4s
1/20/2008 2:11:34 PM  C-Bus Rx : Ramp Security(1), Group 24 - Guest Bedroom Door On over 4s
1/20/2008 2:11:34 PM  C-Bus Rx : Ramp Security(1), Group 25 - Guest Bathroom Window On over 4s
1/20/2008 2:11:35 PM  C-Bus Rx : Ramp Security(1), Group 26 - Guest WC Window On over 4s

If you look at the UCM/Cbus manual, around page 47, there is a section about Security Application Messages.  In the Security Application (hex D0), A0 and A1 are defined as Status Request 1 and 2. the UCM/Cbus should respond with all the current zone status. I dont know how or whether Cgate implements this though

I will definitely look into this. In the meantime I found a possible workaround. From HomeGate I can select to restore the state after a power failure. From the menu I selected Load Monitor and from there the Restore option. This will save the current state of all my marked security zones and should HomeGate fail it will restore it to the previous known values once power is back on.

In practice I still need to see what implications that will have.

Looks like the Restore function doesn't quite work as I thought.  I opened a window and a door and let HomeGate 'see' the status. I disconnected HomeGate from the network (C-Gate couldn't talk to my devices or Minder). I closed the window and reconnected HomeGate a few minutes later. The windows now shows open instead of closed and the door correctly show open but it;s just a coincidence. The problem is that I cannot get HomeGate to do a status update. I tried the different variations of of app 208 commands but none seem to work. I keep on getting a c-gate message like below:

1/27/2008 6:35:21 PM  C-Gate   : Rx "[4466] 401 Bad object or device ID: 254/208/160 (Invalid zone address)"

160 is just one of the different group addresses I tried, they all give the same error.

When I restart C-Gate/HomeGate all the states are gone. The open window shows closed - which is now correct, but the open door now also show closed. Only a system reset om Minder updates the status.

1/27/2008 6:51:36 PM  C-Gate   : Rx "# security zone_unsealed //MIDSTRM/254/208/13  #sourceunit=18 OID="
1/27/2008 6:51:37 PM  C-Gate   : Rx "application ramp //MIDSTRM/254/1/13 255 4 #sourceunit=18 OID=95155010-ad6d-102a-91bf-93c208b747ad"
1/27/2008 6:51:37 PM  C-Bus Rx : Ramp Security(1), Group 13 - Family Room Door On over 4s

Any suggestions?
