Hi everyone,

I want to go down the route of the new flash MPU for my Comfort II ultra which is less than a year old.

Seems that I'd need to bin my UCM/Ethernet then in favour of a UCM05 to be able to perform the flash upgrade.

So a couple of questions:

(1) If I use the tibbo plug-in module from the above on the UCM05 to basically recreat what I already have,  can I use the base UCM01 for anything else or is it basically trash? Seems a shame if I can't re-use it as it's only a few months old.

(2) What's the score with regard to the new web module that is/was under development.  It there a hope that we can have a single device that connects Comfort to the LAN that can provide web and configuration functions.

Or is this all just wishfull thinking.

A couple of connected questions to end on:

(3) If you don't have a UCM05 and wnt to still upgrade the MPU,  can it be ordered with the firmware already flashed to the latest people need for their system.  I'd assume this as otherwise why would you be stopping shipment of the old "hard-wired" ones.

(4) How do you tell what the latest firmware versions are and the one you'd get if you ordered as I can't see any in the software section or in the product description.

Reminds me of my TomTom;  I can buy the latest spangly maps but it doesn't tell me iof the brand new maps I'd be buying are in fact the same as the ones I already have.  And it's too late once you've purchased.

Cheers all,

Julian

The old UCM01 can still be used as another serial interface to another device eg HomeVision. They are perfectly usable except that the firmware cannot be upgraded

The new CWM is still under development. Like the old one it will can be used for programming via Comfigurator  As this is a new hardware platform it requires hardware and software devlopment and is taking longer than expecet

If you do not have the UCM05, you can order the new MPU01 firmware plugin board to upgrade your Comfort firmware. The new MPU01 firmware is based on Flash. The  older MPU01 is One-Time-Programmable (OTP) and cannot be upgraded - the module must be replaced.

The firmware version is written on the label of the IC. You can also check the version in Comfigurator > Transfer > System Information.
We already put the latest release firmware on the website to be downloaded http://www.cytech.biz/Default.aspx?cmd=sQ0OYE9X66w%2b0P%2bAcFsmAI3j73Rwtfrj&fileid=OvnQY6RnMDE%3d&dcid=OWN9c1aiwPM=&pageindex=5U3QQE93T/0=
so that should not be a problem once you have a UCM05
Take note that you need another UCM05 to upgrade the firmware of a UCM05 itself - it is not able to upgared itself
