Hi,

I am pulling my hair trying to resolve this problem.

I have a UCM/Ethernet 5.92

SW8-F (Ethernet) shunted

SW8-H Shunted

DS Manage V5.03 cannot find the Device server.

I powered down the UCm, reset Comfort and still no joy.

I am getting two blinks on D103 (Connection Closed).

All this worked a few days ago.

I need help, maybe lots.

thanks

Could there be a problem with your network if it worked before?
are you able to ping the UCM/Ethernet

Hi

Yes it can be pinged.

I tried via a router and a direct connection.

Thanks

Check out the support pages of the ethernet device manufacturer
eg http://wiki.tibbo.net/doku.php/find_behind_gateway
and
http://wiki.tibbo.net/doku.php
This may offer some clues to your situation

Do you have a software firewall on your PC that  could be blocking the traffic.  I had similar problems and to prove it I temporarily disabled it to prove I could esatablish a connection.  Once this was proven I then made sure the port was open in the firewall config.

Just a thought.

Hi,
I found some software on the net that does a port scan.
I did not find ports 1001 or 65535.

I went to my firewall settings and added these ports for DS Manager. I  then reran the the port scanner software and I still don't see these ports.
Every other device is discoverable on my network expect my UCM/Ethernet
Thanks

Hi

Can you disable the firewall for 30 seconds and see if this works.  If so at least you know 100% that it is the firewall blocking the traffic or you can move on to look elsewhere.

J

Are you trying to reset the Ethernet plug-in? I'm afraid I do not think it is possible unless you are able to connect to it, which now you are unable to do.

There may be more than 1 firewall on the machine, eg Windows Firewall?
Is it possible to try it on another network?

Hi,

Yes, I did on 3 networks.

I am giving up on this and sending the unit back to my distributor for evaluation.

Thanks

Please note that the old UCM01 cannot be used with the ETH01 Plug-in as the J2 shunt is hard soldered to the RS232 position. We have had several instances where a former dealer sold an old UCM01 with a new ETH01 which was not able to work.
However UCM01/Ethernet shipped from the factory has the correct connections soldered in so can be used for this purpose
