Did you try to power off the KP06 and on again? What is the serial number?

Thanks for getting back to me.
I did disconnect, reconnect and then reset the system. I now have messages on the LCD screen but no sound and the keypad functions intermittently. I have checked the wiring and it all appears intact. The sticker on the metal frame is C092843, is that the serial number.

Yes the keypad is from 2017. thanks.
Can you try to upgrade the firmware on the KP06?
do you still get communications failure for the keypad?

The firmware is up to date. I have taken it out a few times and put it back in, at the moment it has started working again. However, the sound is both quiet and slightly distorted. The screen and the keypad are both working. This is a KP06A. I have a KP06. Can I swap the screen/speaker module to see if the problem is the module or the base board?

Swapping the lcd/speaker module identifies that is the problem. Is it possible to purchase a replacement of just the module?

I ordered a replacement, I asked for the module that contained the speaker for a KP06. I received the speaker in the attached photo. As can be seen the speaker is larger than the grill on them module. Before I get back in touch with the supplier, can anybody confirm that this is not the speaker that fits inside the module?

That is not the correct speaker for KP06A. You need the plug in module with lcd and speaker part number XA03-0015.  The actual speaker used in KP0^A is a 20mm speaker with wires that you need to solder, and you would need to dismantle the module. so I suggest the complete module replacement
