Hi

In our location we have numerous power failures, which normally isn't a problem. But on the last two power failures an alarm state has been triggered. Security was in Security off and the only way to silence it was to do a system reset on the panel.

About a month ago I fitted a new battery as the old one was failing the battery check.

I have also been having the odd false alarm, luckily mainly on a door that doesn't trigger full alarm but keeps announcing door is open when not. I replaced the contact, still happened. Then I swapped the zone over and it happens on the other door on same zone. Have also had three other Zones trigger with no apparent reason, the others are PIRs

Any ideas at to what could be causing these issues?

Regards

Joules

Depending on what comfort unit you have I would clean the eol pins as they can oxidise and loose contact cohesion, Same applies for all conections with the wiring ect which can trigger alarm zone failures,

Thanks Swiss-Toni,

I did think that might be a possible cause for the false Alarms.

Presume just clean with contact cleaner?

Any ideas about the Alarm after power failure which cannot be cancelled by user code only a reset.. puzzled why power failure should trigger Alarm sate in first place.

Regards

I was not at home so presume this is the chain of events

14:54 AC Fail 0 - Power fails briefly then  is restored but it has already started to dial me.

I answered and could hear alarm going off.. I could set to security off to stop it remotely.

My wife was home and tried to enter her code on the keypad, but alarm still wouldn't stop. I instructed her to remove panel and press reset button.

I haven't altered any settings for a few years ( I am just about to do a big system expansion) and it has only started recently, it just used to dial me but not trigger the siren.

What is the difference between AC Fail 0 and AC Fail 48..also presume the siren is caused by Alarm type #Powerfail (8)

I am having so many issues with this lately, with false alarms etc, my wife wants me to change to something else but I have just spent nearly £1000 on parts to do the Expansion, so need to get it sorted.

It just seems to do so very strange things lately...I am wondering if there is a hardware issue?

If you can disarm remotely then your wife should be able to disarm by keypad.
Do yiou mean the siren would not stop after entering th code? Are you sure the code was entered correct, and the keypad did not give a long beep to indicate wrong code?

Power Failure should not cause the siren to sound. This is in the alarm Types Power failure setting. Please check this or send the cclx file to support@cytech.biz
If you signed in and the siren does not get silenced try 0 for security Off after signing in on the keypad
