Please check if the D9 red and D10 green leds on the UCM baseboard are blinking which shows the UCM is being polled by Cofort

In CS Manager the state is idle if there is no connectionWhen you try to connect, it should change to Busy. Can you check that. Also for the 2nd portOf it is busy then the PC has managed to connect..
Have you tried another pc?

Cab you reset the ETH03 (not UCM) by pressing the RESET button on the ETH03 submodule.
The Idle should change to Busy when you connect to it by Comfigurator.
If nothing changes try to re-upgrade the ETG03 firmware to the same 2.2.3 see this link http://www.comfortforums.com/forum113/3820.html

This is a puzzle. You are able to upgrade the ETH03 firmware so you should be able to connect to the ETH03 network port.

But the ETH03 status in CS Manager remains as IDLE when you try to connect which means it is not able to connect to the network port. It seems to be contradictory.
Can you check what is the serial number printed on the UCM?

Ray, that serial number belongs to a UCM/ETH02 from 2011.
You changed to ETH03  Do you have the serial number f the eth03 submodule, it should be on the eth03 itself
The red D9 appears to be off although it is a still photo. does it still bllink?
Do you think you can manage to take a video of the whole ucm at the same time that you press log in?

Slychiu,Yes the D9 is still flashing. The serial number on the small board that the network cable connects to is C095296The video was taken as Comfigurator was trying to scan for modules. How do you want me to send the video?Ray

I cannot see any proble with the videoDo you have another UCM? it may be possible that the ID of this or another UCM is wrong due to a loose connection on the ID headers so the ID has a conflict even thoug D9 led is blinking

Can you temporarily disconnect any other UCM and try again

Slychiu,Once you search for modules it asks you to login in thin after about 10 -15 seconds the message appears. Noticed yesterday that the date and time on the system  are wrong, thinks it is 2018 and I can't login to sort.Ray

You can ask Laser for a replacement for ETH03 only, I am not 100% sure that that is the actual problem

I was afraid of that as I was not sure that ETH03 was the cause of the problem
I a suspecting an ID problem or a PC problem. Have you sent the old ETH03 back to Laser? I suggest that you send the whole UCM/ETH03 to laser and let them check with their system. They would then be able to confirm which component is falty and send you the correct combination

All is ok now.Looks like when i updated comfigurator from 3.13.5 to 3.13.6 it changed the IP settings to DHCP which i had set as static, also removed the network local from settings and changed to WIFI. once i set this back and put the IP address back in all worked fine. Thanks as always for your help.

Greetings to you slychiu.  It's been awhile.
I am in need of an obsolete UCM01.  My old comfort1 is still kicking but i lost my last reserve of my ucm01's.  I was hoping that some of your distributors might have some NOS lying around.
MY last UCM01 has a burnt spot on the back side of the board and probably makes it non repairable.  If any of your installers or representatives that have some old pulls would be OK also.
No problem sending them the $$ and doesn't have to be in a hurry as I just installed my last backup and am up and running again for now.  If you think of a distributor that carries his own inventory maybe they have an old board lying around.

If you feel this message is not appropriate due to the obsolescence of the ucm01 then feel free to delete as you see fit.
Thank You for looking.

Respectfully,  Carl Ford

Yes I have one available
Do you need any other obsolete Comfort parts as we do keep a stock of a number of old items.
Have many C1 boards and quite a few doorphone parts inc replacement speakers

Out of nowhere I also start having this issue.I tried everything discussed here besides changing the UCM itself and the error is still there.I can connect to the Comfort using the USB/UCM.Using that connection I just upgraded every firmware available.Still having the error.
This is very annoying.

Hello slychiu.
It's a UCM/Eth02.LEDs seem ok, blinking as expected. It was working until some weeks ago (last time I have evidence of correct behaviour)
Now, there is something that I feel is awkward.I have reused a Python script from an MQTT integration found on the web to test the connection. (found here). It's connecting successfully.
So, can this be a Comfigurator issue? I'm running Version 3.13.6.0 as the previous user ...I would test with a previous version, but not sure exactly which one would produce any results. Were there any significant changes on the way Comfigurator connects to UCM that you are aware of in last versions?
Thanks,Nino

No changes in Comfiguratir that would affect eth02.

If you have a working UCM/USB, can you swap the UCM baseboard with the plug in ETH02 and USB

So we can confirm if the UETj02 or the UCM baseboard that causes the problem

Hello, I have been using some of my spare time trying to understand this behaviour.
I was not sure, but the testing I've made pointed in the direction of the ETh2 module. So, since I was looking to upgrade it anyway, I ordered an Eth3 that arrived today.
Immediately I went to the UCM and replaced the old module with the new one.
Frustration hits. It was not working even with the new Module. Checked everything possible with no success until a fortunate event pointed me in the right direction.
I was disabling DHCP and setting a Fixed IP on 192.168.1.5 (the same IP I had for years and since I have some custom processes looking at Comfort at that address I wanted to keep it like it was). On one of the tests I left the DHCP on.
Collected the IP that was assigned to Comfort and try it. It worked !!!Now back to testing a fixed IP. This time tried a different one 192.168.1.10. And it worked !!!
So, without too much science I now know that I can't use the old IP in order for it to work.
Not sure what is causing the problem with that specific IP, maybe some conflict ... will have to investigate further, but I'm now back to having IP connection to my system.

Nice work. Perhaps the old IP address wqs altready assigned to something else by the router. anyway you now have a new ETH03 and a spare ETH02

I think I have found the real issue here.

From my knowledge Eth2 supports only one connection, right?

I forgot I had a running script on an old machine connecting to the Comfort System. That connection take over the available connection.
With Eth3 I configured teh script to connect to port 1001 and Comfigurator to connect to 1002.
Everything is ok now. I can even use the old IP.
So if you are experiencing this issue consider the number of connections.
(meanwhile, why is the number of connection limited? RAM?)

The number of connections to a port is limited to 1, even for ETH03. This limitation is normal for such connections. There is a secuerity issue, because a connection eeds to log in to connect. If another conection is allowed, it may be able to send commands without log in.
