Hi,
I am testing a new Wired to Wireless interface from AJAX called OcBridge connected to Comfort II.https://ajax.systems/products/ocbridgeplus/
This new wireless solution is bidireccional and has some level of control on the polling of the devices (sensors). One of the "advantages" is to be able to spare (extend) battery life of sensors by reducing activity under certain circumstances determined by the state of the interface OcBridge being "armed" or "disarmed".And this is achieved by command of the input "IN" of OcBridge:
The input “IN” is designated for connecting transistor output or thecentral unit (panel) relay (PICTURE 1). If the “IN” input condition changes(Closing/Opening), the whole set of sensors connected to the receiverare set to “passive” mode (except for the sensors ticked as 24 h active),with the initial state restore – the sensors are set to “active”, and the redlight is on. In case several groups of sensors are used independently onthe central unit, the ocBridge is to be set to the “active” mode even ifonly one group of central unit is in armed mode. Only when all groups oncentral unit are deactivated, is possible to set the ocBridge and sensors to“passive”. Use of “passive” mode of the sensors when system disarmedwill significantly improve battery life of the sensors.
How can I use a Comfort output to set "IN" armed or disarmed (in OcBridge-ian terms) ?
Thanks.Carlos.

The input “IN” is designated for connecting transistor output or the central unit (panel) relay

Comfort Outputs are transistor outputs, so you should be able to connect any Comfort Output to the "IN" input. The COM / 0V of of OC Bridge should be connected to 0V/COM of Comfort, NOT to the Output 12V centre pin. When the comfort output is turned on, it will go to 0V. So you can program comfort system armed  and disarmed to turn on and off the output
This could be a useful product if it works as other wireless to wired products from Risco and Visonic are no longer available.

Please let us know how it works out

That's what I thought and tried with no success (at least viewable success). There is a pair of LEDs (5) on OcBridge that shows if OcBridge is "armed" or "disarmed".
The difference on the Comfort output is 0v when set to ON and 2,75v when set to OFF which "seems" not not be enough to make a difference for Ocbridge.
The "IN" input on OcBridge is like a regular Zone Input on Comfort.I can even set its working as either NC or NO.
If I select "IN" behavior as NC or NO without any input on "IN" I can see the effect on OcBridge - it gets default armed or disarmed depending on selecting NC or NO.
I tried both with Comfort, but never got any reaction to the change (ON-OFF or OFF-ON) in Comfort Output connected to "IN"

As I am still on a lab environment, most tests when possible I use Comfort responses directly from Comfigurator. So, in fact I did not test the response to be activated on Comfort ARM or DISARM.
But I trust the effect is the same when I activate manually the responses (1 and 2) OUTPUT 1 ON or OFF from Comfigurator

Comfort outputs are Open-collector transistor. That means that when the Output is ON it gfoes to 0V when output s Off the output is floating. If you want it to be 12V then you should add a resistor eg 1K from Output to 12V
I expected tghe IN input should have a pulup resistr but that may not be so

No, it seems I do not need higher voltage values to drive IN, but the exact opposite.
"That means that when the Output is ON it gfoes to 0V"
This is were I have a problem: Output ON does not go to 0v - it scores around 0.73 to 0.78v. (this value is measured even without anything connected to OUTPUT1 - open)
It's funny because if I measure Output OFF is scores between 0.08v to 0.10v (open) and if I connect it to IN it assumes 2,58v as I would expect. But this is not the problem.
I found that to activate IN I really need the value of the OUTPUT1 to go close to 0V (0,75 is not enough).(If I shunt IN to COM I get that reaction !!!)
I also found that the variation values of OcBridge Zones outputs (that connect to Comfort input zones) are of the range 0V (closed) to 1.13V (open) (for a NC zone).
So I guess similar values are expected from Comfort OUTPUT1 to control IN input on OcBridge.
I cannot explain why OUTPUT1 goes to 0.75 and not to 0V on ON activation (as it should, right?)
(As a clarification, I also tested other OUTPUTs with the same values and behaviour, so it is not a problem with just OUTPUT1)
Help much appreciated.
Thanks.Carlos

Yes it is normal that the outputs do not go to 0V. Transistor outputs do not go all the way to 0V. The outputs have a Darlington Transistor driver to give higher gain so the minimum output voltage is 0.7V.   This is designed to drive relays and Infrared Transmitters
If you need the voltage to go to 0V then I suggest you connect a 12V relay like RLY01H to the output. The Relay N/O and Common contacts can be connected to the IN input of the device

This weekend I tested this configuration and IT WORKS.

Great
Thanks
