Hi,
For those (like me) on the lookout for a replacement to Visonic MCR-308 and wireless security sensors, maybe interesting to check out this link:
https://ajax.systems/products/ocbridgeplus/
I just started testing a small configuration attached to Comfort.Looks promising.

Have you completed the installation of these devices? How is your experience with them.
We shall be buying some for testing as well .
which parts did you get? This is an interesting product range if they work well

Hi Chiu,
I have now Phase I of my new system working normally for about 1 month.
Phase I means a basic transition from Comfort I, still without X10 (to think about ...) and a mix Visonic wireless and AJAX wireless security sensors. The AJAX part was motivated by the Visonic stopping selling MCR308 and MCX.But I still have almost 30 Visonic sensors (PIR and MAG) working perfectly so my plan is to slowly decomission them as soon as they fail (and crossing fingers for MCR308 longevity), and replace them by the new supplier solution AJAX

My current AJAX set is composed of:
  • 1 x OcBridge Plus
  • 2 x MotionProtect (PIR)
  • 2 x DoorProtect (MAG)
I also connected the 4x "Ocbridge Service Zones" (T,S,B,J) (similar to Visonic's) to Comfort zones for monitoring of the AJAX sensors status.
And connected one Comfort output to RLY01H and this to the "IN" as described in  http://www.comfortforums.com/forum1/5175.html to take advantage of spared sensors battery life and proper status gathering. "IN" is "armed" on Night Mode and Away Mode.

The operation of this new AJAX configuration has been problem free upto now. OcBridge is programmed by USB connection to a PC/windows and a Configuration program and in terms of ease of Configuration and troubleshooting is … 20 years away from Visonic PowerCode.
Sensors are registered using this Configurator which allows you to test sensor signal strength as you move to any place in the house. Wireless reach is also much increased in relation to Visonic. Each sensor has available some config parameters

So, my plan is to increase AJAX PIR and MAG sensors as Visonic are replaced and also experiment with others (fire, glass break, and leak).
This surely looks as a good alternative to Visonic and to expand Comfort options.
Let me know if you want aditional info or detail.

No.
Conceptually the Ocbridge Plus acts like MCR308 for Visonic PowerCode sensors.
It provides 8 sensor zones to Comfort (many sensors per zone) plus the 4 "Service Zones".
OcBridge can be programmed stand-alone just connected (and powered) by USB to a PC running AJAX OcBridge Configurator (downloadable from OcBridge Plus page).
This Configurator also allows to upgrade firmware of ocBridge. It has Read and Write configuration operations similar to Comfort Configurator.
When you "connect" Configurator to ocBridge it gets into configuration mode, signaled by a LED. When Configurator is "disconnected" it gets into operation mode.
ocBridge needs 12v for normal operation (which I took from Comfort)
Under Configurator you start by creating and setting "radio zones" matching Comfort zones. Named them as you like. Then you can enroll the sensors to the zone (each zone can even include mix MAG and PIR). The sensors can later be moved to another zone.
In Configurator there is a utility to test the sensor's signal strength level as you position it on the intended installation place (the program provides the signal levels in dbm).
OcBridge keeps a log register that can be read by Configurator (as well as cleared or saved).

So, with ocBridge, a Windows PC, a USB mini cable, AJAX ocBridge Configurator and the sensors you will have everything needed to program the interface and the wireless environment.

Unfortunately Ajax do not sell the Ocbridge products anymore. There is a comfort project for 100+ systems which required a wireless sensor interface.

" We prefer to increase our product range and build systems based on our central panel and Ajax ecosystem." so our integrator had to look for another alternative.
