Hi,I have a Comfort II Ultra, 7160. UCM01, 7.119, has ETH03I have 2 ports assigned, one for Configurator and one that my HomeSeer system connects to.Everthing has been working fine for some time.Recenly I noticed that I was not getting a connection through either port. I have a static IP.If I load Comfort Srver Manager, if the ETH 03 is responsive I can see it in Server Manager.
I spent some time looking at the system, the only way I could rectify the problem was to disconnect ETH03 and then reconnect.Doing that cleared the fault for a couple of days but each time it has returned.
Any ideas?

There is a sticker on the ETH03 with P093397. Is that the serial?

Yes that is the serial number.
It is about 5 years old
It has probabaly developed a fault. I suggest you purchase the ETH03 submodukle from Laser

I ordered and installed a replacement ETH03. Initially things seemed to have resolved, but now they are back to being as they were with the old ETH03.
Any further troubleshooting tips gratefully received.

If a new ETH03 has the same prolen, then I think it is not a hardware problem with the ETH03There may be a problen with the switch or network cable, perhaps they have intermittent problemsI would do a thoeough check on these itemsConnect the ETH03 direct to a router or anothewr switch etc

I've been experienting.
First I moved the ethernet cable from the switch to the router. Still problems.
I found a long ethernet cable so I was able to go directly from the Eth03 to a network point. Still problems.
Any more thoughts?

I suggest to ask for ajn exchange of the ETH03 in case this one is faulty
is the provlen definately with eth03 and not the vbase UCM board?are you not able to connect to the IP address, or are you unable to see the UP address in CS Manager?

Thanks for the reply.
When I can't connect I am unable to logon via Comfigurator and unable to see the IP in CS Manager.
I do not know if it is ETH03 or the UCM. Is there a way I can test?

Try to ping to ETH03 IP address. If you cannoty do that, then it shuld be an ETH03 problem

Will do. I think I may have done along the way but to be sure next time it 'goes off' I'll ping.

Update. After my last post I changed the white connecting wire between the main board and the UCM. I have had no connection issue since. It is strange, putting a test meter on the old wire does not find a fault!
