We have an existing installation that we have recently upgraded for the customer. The set up was using a UCM with an RS232 daughter board to connect to a centralite system.
After upgrading the UCM to 7.XX there appears to be no communication out of the UCM.
When an RS232 communication is sent...- There is a flashing LED on the main board L10 L11 - NO flashing LED on the UCM D9 and D10
Am I correct in saying that the LED's D9 and D10 should flash when an RS232 communication is sent?

More to the point it was working BEFORE i upgraded to 7.XX form 5.XXX
Are you able to test this with a 7.XXX version?

The cclx file is OK. Upgrading from UCM v5 to v7 should not affect it.
The Responses to send mesages to Centralite should work (but whether the commands to centralite work is not known because we do not have any centralite here).
You said that D9 and D10 were not blinking, is that the case? if so then the ucm is not being polled, and that does not have anything to do with the firmware or programming.
If that is fixed, then when you send a command to Centralite, the D11 (Red) LED (NOT D9) should blink meaning that a message is being sent to the Rs232 interface.
Another suggestion not related to this issue. The programming UCM should always be at UCM ID 1 and any other interface UCM should be ID 2 or more. This is because for UCM ID1 can be removed from the network without causing a Communications Failure alarm. UCMs at other IDs when removed will cause Comms failure alarm

Centralite
Were you aware that they are no longer manufacturing Centralite litejet or the larger version.... think they went into receivership a couple of years ago.
We do have software if anyone is in trouble OR can be upgraded without tooo much hassle to KNX.

so i have a test rig set up
mimics the file i sent you
on UCM1 (the centralite UCM) ( RS232 daughter board in place but NO RS232 'load") D11 D12 DO NOT flash when I send an RS232 command.
Howeveron UCM2 (the network UCM) D11 D12 DO flash when I send an RS232 command.
Does the RS232 command get sent universally to all boards and only flashes if it sees an RS232 handshake (even though the response is addressed to only a SINGLE UCM !).

The RS232 command gets sent only to the UCM that is addressed.
Your results indicate that you have mixed up the addresses of the UCM 1 and 2.
I suggest yiou scan for modules, check which is centralite, check the response and write to Comfort That will sort out the problem

My results may indicate that BUT I've DOUBLE checked.
The leds on the UCM2 flash when i send a Centralite response which is directed to UCM1.
I am using the file i sent you.
Are you able to replicate the scenario.
I still have set up on bench -

It appears that you are correct. The later UCM firmware does block the send text message if that UCM is not logged in.
A new UCM firmware will fix that
The UCM Universal is the UCM of choice when communicating with 3rd party systems as it allows different baud rates for communications

Universal - again agreed and again I'm aware of - HOWEVER this is an existing installation and already programmed by original installer.

I just came across this post. I have a very similar problem in that my UCM/RS232 board connected to my Dynalite Gateway stopped working when sending Comfort -> Dynalite messages but works fine Dynalite -> Comfort.
Should I try this beta version?
