KNX/Logic will be a UCM sized Controller with a plug-in KNX Interface.

It will have all the functions of the UCM/KNX2 except that this is not a UCM that is connected to Comfort.  It is a Controller like Comfort, but without Inputs, Outputs, Voice. messages or Alarm Functions.

It is like the UCM/Logic Controller, except that instead of ETH03 plug in, it supports the KNX Module
It supports all the Comfort RS485 Bus modules, eg UCMs, IRIO, HIO, MSM
It will have Counters, Flags, Sensors, Responses which are used for logic programming and control.
The applications for this product include;
  • Low cost Logic Engine for KNX - allows use of Comfort extensive logic conditional features
  • Interface between KNX and other modules supported by Comfort , eg C-Bus, Modbus, Velbus, UCM/PI, IRIO, HIO
  • Uses - in Hotels, Commercial and Industrial applications.
This product should be released next month

The new board has a plug in daughter board for the outputs....
The new KNX logic module does not have conventional 'outputs'.

Would it be a good idea to produce a UCM output - or simply a separate output board a bit like RIO !

Does the logic module include timers?
What physical means is there of connecting to the unit to program it?
Does it use comfigurator software?
Can it be connected to the Ethernet and utilise: daylight saving; get time date etc.
If there is a remote Ethernet connection can this be used to upload down load th software ( i.e gain remote access !)

LOTS OF QUESTIONS

What ever happened to Comfort being designed to be DIN mounted.
A KNX logic controller would be far better suited to DIN mounting!

One output would not be  much use, The KNX/Logic board is the same hardware as UCM so there is no place to put any outputs
You can use outputs from RIO or IRIO so it is possible to add outputs

Does the logic module include timers?
Yes, same as Comfort

Yes, Comfigurator can be used. Use a UCM like Comfort to program

As you can connect a UCM/ETH03, all the same features are available.

Comfort itself is not so suitable  for DIN rail, too many inputs and output connections so would be too largeand also needs a battery to be connected.
Other products are in DIN rail  eg HIO, MSM, Relays, IRIOKNX/Logic in future may fit into din rail if a ,major project is confirmed
