I have a strange issue with my system.

When someone leaves a message and I replay it the date/time stamp is corrupted.

For example I would hear something like this, rather than the hrs/mins.

"Wednesday Wednesday Wednesday PM"

Any thoughts.

This may be due to the sentences being corruipted
Try doing a Sentence Tale upgrade, and select the latest vocab file
Make sure you comfort firmware is up to date, as some old versions had a problem with sentences upgrade

Oops I think I went a bit wrong!

I just did a Vocab Upgrade (using kate39.bin) and now the words seem to be all mixed up, i.e. the prompts are all wrong via the keypad/communicator!

The transfer seemed to work ok (it did stop near the end and ask me whether I wanted to start from where it stopped, which I did do).

The System Information screen says:

Firmware Type: Comfort II Ultra
Version: 7.116
File System: 34
Vocabulary Number: 5
Custom Vocabulary: No
System Vocabulary Version: 39
User Vocabulary Version: 1
LCD Text Version: 2
LCD KP Minimum Version: 3

For reference the system says "Seven Zero Alert" when I exit the voice menu with the F key, rather than "Security Off".

System info seems to be correct

Can you just do a Sentences table upgrqrade instead of the full vocab upgrade

Hi,

I tried that too, and no change.

I've also just tried myma39.bin and I still have the same issue.

Thanks

It appears like some fault on the comfort unfortunately
I have not encountered that before
When was it purchased, do you have serial number?

I got the board shipped directly from you I think, after inadvertently buying a non-official one from that supplier in the UK.

Then I got a repair from you in 2014 due to a lightning strike in July 2014

Is the serial number only visible on the actual PCB?

Hmm, it was a lightning strike which caused  a fault on your original comfort. Is your area prone to lightning? Instead of damaging the system completely, it may have caused some random fault. Have you tried switching off the system and removing the battery?

Yes I think it was the cause of the fault the first time, damage close to the telephone interface I recall.

We're not prone to lightning at all here, that was a one-off I think.

I just tried a complete power down / battery out and it's still the same.

It's a bit of a strange fault. Only some of the vocabulary is wrong.

These are the files I have.

1 = Me keying *<PIN>#
2 = The loop message after the above
3 = Me pressing the F key to end/logoff
4 = Setting night mode then disarming
5 = Setting away mode then disarming (including walking through a zone)

I can't upload a WAV file, can I sent them to admin@comfortforums.com, if not please PM me an address.

Thanks

We suspect the Flash which stores the words is faulty so when some words are retrived, the addresses get crossed and the wrong word is loaded to the speech engine
Or perhaos the DSP is sending the wrong addresses
In any case it looks like a hardware fault
Can you let us have the serial number(s) of the Comfort PCB

Newer comforts may show the serial number in Module scan in Controller properties

There are random words which are pronounced  wrongly
We suspect that it is a fault on one of the address  pins of the flash which stores the words. so when a word is retrived from the flash, it gives a dfferent word
The Comfort PCB looks like it needs to be repaired
Let us have the seriqal number
