Hi slychui, that seems to have worked, my counter values are now looking correct, although my logic still needs some work.

Thanks
Eamon

Have you considered if Comfort's built in Heating/cooling functions can perform the required logic?

I had tried it, but it does not allow direct control of my Venus relays.

what was the problem in controlling it? Perhaps the function can be improved

Hi Slychui.
The first problem, is that the functions only allows you control heating types that are controlled directly from comfort relays, and does not allow you associate a heating control to a velbus relay, or knx etc, so the heating function within comfort really does not control any devices outside of that. So, for aynone with knx/cbus etc, it cannot be used (Easily).

The second problem, is that I need some way of comfort controlling the source of the heating, based on the call. Not sure if this makes sense, but let me explain.
My heating is oil controlled, with an oil burner, which heats 3 different zones

1) The hot water tank
2) The Living area zone
3) The bedroom zone

So, when I call or set the living area heating to 22 deg, comfort must turn on the source (the oil burner), and open the zone (living zone).

When the living zone hits 22 deg, then it must turn off the zone and the source  UNLESS, there is a call for the source from another zone (ie, if the bedroom zone is calling for it at the same time, then comfort should leave the source turned on).

That is the logic I am trying to implement, and I am doing it via a counter, which increments or decrements whenever a zone has "called" for the source or removed the "call" for the source. The counter value has a response which turns the source on or off dependent on the value.

So, if all three zones are calling for heating, then my source counter  = 3, and the source remains on, until the counter reduces to 0
