Comfort monitors AC Power Failure and Low Battery If there is a Power Failure on Comfort's mains power supply with the Battery Backup connected, after 60 seconds the Power Failure alarm is reported. The Keypad AC (Red) LED turns on steady to indicate power failure. The Power Failure Alarm Type is activated, which can cause a dial out to the enabled phone numbers for this alarm type. The power failure is reported in the Event Log. During a power failure, Comfort switches to the Backup Battery to continue supplying power. When there is a prolonged power failure, the Low Battery alarm will be activated. Comfort reports a Battery Warning alarm if the backup battery voltage is low (11.0 to 11.5 volts). Usually this is detected only during a Battery Test (F3,1) or the Scheduled Daily Battery Test (Configuration> Modules & Settings > Misc Settings). Comfort switches off the AC power to the system during the battery test, and if the battery voltage is low, it switches on the AC again. Hence the system will report Battery Warning Restore after Battery Warning Alarm. The Low Battery Alarm Type can be programmed to dial out to the enabled phones for this alarm type. To check the battery voltage, see this topic http://www.comfortforums.com/forum16/896.html The keypad red AC LED will blink when there is low battery (it is steady on during Power Failure) Slaves will also report their own battery warning alarm if their battery is low. This will be reported as Battery Warning Slave 1, 2 or 3 on the keypad and event log. If the setting Comfigurator > Modules & Settings > Configuration Flags > Detect Battery Disconnected is checked, then Comfort reports a Battery Warning alarm when there is no battery connected in the main Comfort or Slave modules. If this setting is disabled, Comfort detects low battery condition but not Battery Disconnected |

Hi Chiu, Can you expand on the logging of this a bit? We are just experiencing some power problems and getting a number of power failures this morning, so a few entries in the event log! Timing is also bad as I have a weak battery in my slave and cannot replace for a couple of weeks! So question is what do the numbers after the AC Fail / AC Restore entries mean?

The events log is in the format month/Day, HH:MM, Event, parameter when the vent is an alarm the parameter may be an ID, user or other parameter 02/2305:44 Low Battery # Slave 1 Slave 1 is the ID 02/23 05:45 Dial Number # 1 - #1 is the parameter ie phone index The parameter in () is the alarm type where applicable eg 02/23 11:23 Alarm Type # PowerFail (8) where the alarm has no parameter eg 02/23 08:04 AC Fail 101 then the parameter shown is random eg 101 The dial out at 5:45 is not caused by the low battery It is a redial from 5:44 If Comfort calls you and you do not press # to acknowledge or dont sign in, Comfort will redial you in the next round unless the alarm is disarmed when you acknowedge bby press # the event log records it as "Phone call OK" (I cannot recall exactly what) or when you sign in it records as "User no N sign in OK" Repeated dial # 1 means these are redials |

Thanks Chiu, I understood most of that already, but was interested in the numbers after the Power Fail and Restore logs. If these are random then I can ignore them! Thanks |
