I probably should know this !
In the user menu there is a battery check facility....... if you press battery check option nothing appears to happen !
Is the battery status reported in the log?
Presumably there is no real means of monitoring anything other than the voltage and when this drops below a certain value the "battery warning" is triggered

Battery Check immediately activates a battery test by switching off the AC supply and letting the backup battery supply power to the system for 2 minutes(default). If at any time during this test, a low battery condition is detected, the ac power will be turned on and a battery test fail report will be sent to the Monitoring Station.

If the battery is good, nothing will be heard in the 2 minutes
Comfort does not measure the voltage during this time. Only if thevoltage drops below around 1.5 V will the battery warning alarm appear

Ah
Well can i make a suggestion .........
Anybody using this facility would be quite rightly confused by the (non) action of comfort after pressing the battery test selection.
At least there needs to be some sort of acknowledgement that the battery test has indeed taken place!
So it may be that after 2 min comfort announces battery test OK ( or failed if it fails)

Alternatively
Does the battery check need to be there at all ( in the menu) - perhaps removing it all together would still mean that a flat battery is reported when the check is done at what ever interval is set.

ALSO the comment about battery check reporting to the monitoring station........ presumably it does not do this by default. I wonder in all of the many tens of thousands of comfort installations how many have ever had the battery fault reported to a monitoring station !

Your thoughts?

The keypad battery test is to initiate an immediate battery test. Installers especially may need to do this instead of waiting for the 24 hour test if you suspect the battery is low

It would be possible to do an announcement at the end, but this may not be welcome if the automatic battery test  is late at night!

The battery test is not recorded in the event log, that may tend to fill up the event log as there is one every day

Why not allow the frequency (in days) to be configurable and also whether write to log is on/off via configuration
Surely I only need to test the battery  once a week?

The Battery Check Interval is already programmable in Security > Misc Settings up to 254 hours

However it is a requirement for alarm installations for many places to have a 24 hour battery check

Actually the battery check in the menu is totally redundant. .....
As comfort by default checks the battery once a day ( and subsequently reports low battery if it is low) why would any body need to check through the menu. After 10+ hears experience as an installer I have never used thus function In order to get the max life out of a battery simply leave it until comfort auto checks an d reports
In my experience a 7Ah YUASA  battery  will last a min of 2 years  and I've known them to last up to 10 in low power consumption units.

You can only reset the Low Battery warning with a manual Battery Check. If you replace a faulty battery you do a Battery Check and the error is cleared unless you leave it in the system for 24H and wait for an automated check.

Er yes BUT if you replace the battery and don't reset it will reset anyway on the next battery check ( as you have a new battery).
So once again surely having a menu that simply confuses people is worse than having no menu at all.

It is still useful to be able to check it immediately

If there is anything wrong with the battery connection, then a battery test will give the battery alarm so you know there is a problem, instead of waiting until the installer has gone back

When we used to have the charging lamps, sometimes they blow up and do not charge the battery, so after you change the battery it still gives low battery and it is better to discover on the site

Also the way it works is the battery test duration starts from the last battery test, so if you do it  manually, say at 12 PM and the duration is 24 hours it will happen at 12 PM the next day and subsequent days
