Comfort 2nd Generation Android Phone and Tablet apps will be released within the next week. Note that this requires ETH03 firmware 2.16 (download from http://www.cytech.biz/eth03_firmware.html ) and Comfort Server Manager 2.06 (included in Comfigurator 3.10.4)

Note: For this update, the older version must be uninstalled before installing the new version 1.6. This is because of differences in the data structure due to the extra port which cannot be  updated. After uninstalling the older version, the new version can be installed

The new feature will be the ability to select the port for Local or Remote (Internet) connection from the log in screen

You can select Local1, Local2, Remote1, Remote2 port for connection.

ETH03 2.16 allows 2 ports for connection eg Ports 1001 and 1002
This allows 2 applications to connect to Comfort eg Android, iOS app or Comfigurator at the same time.
However only 1 connection can be made at one time to one port. If the port is busy, the application can connect to the other port.

The new version of the app allows the user to see which port is free.
Check one of the boxes Local1 or Local2. If the port is free the app will show "Connected" as in the above screenshot. The Login button will be visible.

If the port is busy, it will show "Connecting..." and the Login button is grayed out. Switch to the other local port to connect.

For the 2 Remote ports, there should be 2 ports forwarded on the router for connection by Internet

The Setup screen is shown

In the above example, 2 local ports 1001 and 1002 and 2 remote ports 8084 and 8085 are entered.

The 2 local ports must be set-up using Comfort Server Manager
2 2 remote ports must be set up by Porty Forwarding on the router

If any of the local or remote ports are not set up, the ports will be grayed out and cannot be selected on the login screen

Download ETH03 firmware from http://www.cytech.biz/eth03_firmware.html

Comfort Server Manager 2.06 is included in Comfigurator 3.10.4

If you have problems  in not being able to see the 2 ports or select them please take note of the warning above.
This is necessary because of the changes in data structure for the 2 ports.

Note: For this update, the older version must be uninstalled before installing the new version 1.6. This is because of differences in the data structure due to the extra port which cannot be updated. After uninstalling the older version, the new version can be installed

If the phone or tablet is set to auto-update applications, then this will result in the new version upgrading the previous version

This will cause a problem as the old data needs to be deleted.

In this case please delete the app from your device and re-install it again

Apologies for this problem

I know this maybe a big ask, but is their any chance of developing a widget for Android, (Unfortunatly I do not have the skill set to build apps) With a sizeable widget feature made for a tablet it could be made to use the whole screen so that it is ready on demand rather than just having to log on to the icon.
I dare say this should be in the wishlist request section. The set up could mean a tablet would be ready with the display set permanent to basic non security features as the android app does now, this would make it far more conveniant and more user freindly

It's just food for thought!

No, you cannot add your own graphics
The app is designed to be simple, requiring no special programmming
