Hello!
A system we installed about 3 years ago manifests occasionally (not always) several problems. I'm attaching the first two pages of system report. If you need more information about the system, please let us know.

The problems are:

1. the panel's time and date is way off (but the battery is fine)

2. the system sometimes (sometimes even several times a day) looses voice

3. dialling in while the system is armed in away mode should get answered by the system and allow control after entering ID. However, sometimes the call is answered, but there's only silence (entering ID "blindly" doesn't work)

4. doorphone calls while in away mode should forward the call to our client's mobile number, but it doesn't work any more (this problem is pemanent)

Do you have some advice for us as to where to look for a possible common cause?

Thanks!

1. the panel's time and date is way off (but the battery is fine)

The best way to get accurate time is to use the UCM/ETH03 with Internet time sync, sends emails and enables the use of the Comfort app to access. Your customer may like to upgrade to get these features for his 3 year old system
If not go to Configuration > Modules and Settings > Time Adjust and enter a value in seconds which compensates for the time innaccuacy for 1 day. eg if the time is faster by 10 seconds a day then enter +10. if it is slow by 10 seconds then enter -10

2. the system sometimes (sometimes even several times a day) looses voice

Do you have to upgrade vocabulary or just reset the system when it loses voice. If the voltage is detected to drop below a certain value the system disables the voice until it is reset

3. dialling in while the system is armed in away mode should get answered by the system and allow control after entering ID. However, sometimes the call is answered, but there's only silence (entering ID "blindly" doesn't work)

Can you press * and the code and #?
The system may be silent if there is a lot of noise in the background
This is part of the algorithm for detecting caller hang up
But you should be able to sign in

4. doorphone calls while in away mode should forward the call to our client's mobile number, but it doesn't work any more (this problem is pemanent)

Can you send the cclx file to support@cytech.biz? This should be a programming issue

I suggest that you upgrade the Comfort and UCM to the latest version 7, as well as Comfigurator as some of the issues may be ones that are fixed or improved by the later firmware

Actually, nothing needs to be done. The system looses voice, then has it again, by itself.

But it occurrs to me that maybe actually power is totally unstable, so the system also gets reset by itself, every now and again, without our client even noticing it.

But, this then means that the battery is actually dead, right?

I'm sending it right away, but I just want to point out that this was working OK, then it stopped working and there were no changes in the program in the meantime (unless the client was playing with engineering programming menu over the keypad, but I seriously doubt it).

There is nothing wrong wth the program. doorphone alarm will dial to phone 4 when armed to away mode
But the program in Comfort may not correspond with the cclx file, if sonmeone has written to it or modified it
Is it only the doorbell which does not dial out or other alarm types as well?

The dial test F3,3 on the keypad or User Mode in View menu will do a dial test to all phone numbers and allow you to hearr the dial progress on the keypad
The Event log will show the dialing events and whether the dialouts are successful

The possible reasons for dial failure are to do wth the telephone line or connections

also please upgrade the firmware as shown in http://www.comfortforums.com/forum92/3400.html
