The Control Menu is used to control Lights and appliances in Comfort by means of a hierarchical menu structure.

The control menu can be operated via the Keypad (by pressing F2), or the telephone menu (4 for Home Control), or via the iOS and Android Comfort apps.

There can be up to 6 Groups in Comfort Ultra (1 group in Comfort Optimum); each Group consists of a maximum of 10 Control Keys, and each Control key can have up to 10 Actions or operations. Thus a maximum of 600 actions or operations can be programmed in Comfort via the control menu

The below screenshot shows how the Control Menu is programmed in Comfigurator.

Control Groups

In each Control Group, enter up to 4 Phase Words to describe the group. Select each word from the wordlist via the pull-down menu.
The "Alternative Phrase" is any text that describes the group. This is not announced in the voice menu, but it is used by the Comfort iOS/android apps. The Alternative Phrase is optional.

Note that the groups can be Rooms, eg Living Room, Master Bedroom, Study, Kitchen, with each Group containing appliances in the rooms.

In the example, there are 4 groups; 0 for Lights, 1 for Airconditioners, 2 for Heater, 3 for Blinds. Under each group, there will be control keys or appliances

Under each control key, there can be up to 10 actions or operations.

Action Keys 0 must be Off (Inactive state), and 1 must be On (Active state).  Never program 0 for ON, 1 for OFF as that will result in the wrong feedback state  being announced or displayed on the Comfort app.

For each Control Key, enter up to 4 phrase words from the drop-down list to describe the appliance. The "Alternative Phrase" is any text that describes the group. This is not announced in the voice menu, but it is used by the Comfort iOS/android apps. The Alternative Phrase is optional.

Drag and Drop of Control Menu
It is possible to Drag and Drop Control Key items from one position to another eg Porch Light can be moved to another position eg 7 in the Control Menu above. If it is dropped in a the place of an exiting control key eg Toilet Light, it will replace that item on the menu.
It is also possible to drag and drop the control actions from one position to another, eg Off and On can be moved. But remember the 0 MUST be for Off or inactive and 1 MUST be for ON or active in order to work for feedback

Feedback for Control Menu
Each Control Key can be associated with Feedback so that the real time state of the device or appliance is known.
There are 2 fields for each Control Key; Feedback Type and Feedback Name.

Select Feedback Type from the drop-down list;
None, Zone, Analog Input, Output, Counter, Flag, X10, Sensor.

After selecting the Feedback Type, select the Feedback Name.
For example, for Feedback Type= Output, select the Output for feedback. For Feedback Type = Zone, select the Zone Name. For feedback Type = Counter, select the Counter.

In the example above, feedback Type = Zone, Feedback name = Living Room Light. This means the Living Room Zone has the feedback state of the device. It means a Current sensor connected to the zone is used to monitor the Living Room Lights state. TWS02 (Two way Lighting Module) has a lighting relay and Current sensor to control and monitor a light. When the light is turned on, the current sensor detects the current and gives the On status to the connected zone input.

If the device is controlled by an output and the status is obtained by that same output, then set Feedback Type = output.

Feedback Type Counter is used where the Counter is mapped to 3rd party systesm like KNX, C-Bus or Z-Wave.

Control Menu by Voice Menu
Press F2 on the keypad or in the Voice menu, press 4 for Home Control.

The voice menu says (according to the above example)

"Press 0 for Lights
1 for Airconditioner
2 for Heater
3 for Blinds"

Pressing 0 for Lights leads to the next menu

"Press 0 for All Lights
1 for Porch Light
2 for Hall Light
3 for Guest Room Light
4 for Bedroom Light
5 for Kitchen Light
6 for Toilet Light"

Pressing 2 for Hall light leads to
"Hall Light is ON (or Off)
Press 0 for OFF, 1 for On, # for previous Menu"

Note that the state of the Hall Light is announced according to the programmed feedback. The words 0 for Off and 1 for On are announced as the off/on state.

Action Keys 0 must be Off (Inactive state), and 1 must be On (Active state).  Never program 0 for ON, 1 for OFF as that will result in the wrong feedback state  being announced or displayed on the Comfort app.

Control Menu and Feedback on the Comfort Apps

In the iOS and Android app, this control menu will be displayed in the Control Page according to the way it is programmed. The screenshot below is for the iPad app.

Note that the  status buttons should show the real status of the devices, even when not controlled by Comfort, eg by using the manual switches or using another 3rd party product like C-Bus, KNX and Z-Wave

In order to be able to show the toggle buttons on the control page, the Control Menu must be programmed as follows;

In the Control menu, Action Keys 0 must be Off (Inactive state), and 1 must be On (Active state).  Never program 0 for ON, 1 for OFF as that will result in the wrong feedback state  being announced or displayed on the Comfort app.

You must have a feedback type as Flag or Counter..

eg Bedroom Light

Feedback Type = Counter 1
Action Key 0 word = off (not "light off")

Action Key 1 word = On (not "light On")

save the file and send to your phone

Editing Control Menu Drag and Drop
In the Control Menu, you can Cut, copy and Paste the Control Menu and Control Action keys. This allows you to move control menu items from one to the other or copy items from menu to menu. Not may many know about this timesaving feature

You can also drag and drop control the control menu and control keys  from menu to menu. See the attached screenshot as an example of moving a control Menu (Light 2) from key 2 to key 3. Note that the Light 2 in light gray is dragged from menu 2 to 3

This saves a lot of time when constructing a Control menu

However at present you cannot do the same for a Control  group
