I have a counter (253) which is being controlled by CBUS via Cbus2 UCM (Lighting, register type Counter). That works well, I can monitor the Counter and verify that it changes as it should.Â
I wanted to use the same counter to lock/unlock a Zwave Doorlock and switch some of my AV gear OFF. I have setup Micasa Verde Vera 3 as a primary Zwave Controller, have the Zwave UCM included (with a Virtual node, Register type Counter) and have the logic to lock the door and switch AV devices off when this virtual Node is turned ON. So have both Cbus & Zwave use the same Counter, but only Cbus is changing the state/value of this Counter, Zwave is just monitoring.
Now if I change this node, in Vera for testing, I can immediately see the value of the Counter changing as it should and matching what is set in Vera, but Comfort does not update the value of this Counter back to Vera when it changes on the Comfort side, that is, it seems to be one way (Zwave to Comfort, and not Comfort to Zwave).Â
I am using Comfigurator 3.8.10 with ....Â
Comfort Ultra 7.057
Zwave 7.043
Cbus2Â 7.045Last edited on Monday Jul 21st, 2014 09:30 am by Howser

Can the UCM/Zwave control the Zwave Door lock e.g. open/lock?
Try creating a response to test this out.

The lock uses secure z-wave classes and I was informed UCM/Zwave does not support this.

I have now added a physical unit in the Zwave network (Fibaro Relay) and counter changes from Comfort are transmitted to the Zwave network. It looks like Comfort does not transmit when we have a Virtual Node, but does when there is a physical unit.

A virtual node created by UCM/Zwave is meant for Zwave to Comfort operation.
This can be in the form of updating the Zwave status to Comfort when the corresponding Zwave module is triggered locally (e.g. pressing the on/off button on the Zwave lamp module).
Or for the Zwave module to control non-Zwave appliances that is connected to Comfort (e.g. air conditioner). For example, a Zwave controller button is associated with Zwave relay and UCM/Zwave's virtual node. The virtual node is then mapped to a Comfort's Counter which has a response to air conditioner. So pressing the Zwave controller button will not only trigger the Zwave relay but also trigger the air conditioner.
Virtual node is NOT meant for Comfort to Zwave operation.
For Comfort to Zwave operation, check whether Comfort supports the Zwave class used by a particular Zwave module.
So if you want Comfort to controls the Zwave Doorlock then it can not be done.

So how would one do Comfort to Zwave, for example tell Zwave that the alarm is ON?

You can create a response to trigger Zwave and assign that response in one of the 31 preset alarms in Comfort (in Security Type Settings >> Alarm Types).

Seeing that the Zwave/UCM will not be able to control the lock or the AV devices, I would need a physical unit to trigger, which is what I did with the Fibaro Relay.
My question is how would one do that without having an extra physical unit?

Sorry but I can see no way other than having your extra physical unit in between to control them.
