Have you added an extra phone recently? In our experience the endless dialing is caused by Comfort thinking that one of the phones is offhook when it dials out, causing Comfort to interrupt the dial out and try again. This is not counted as an attempt because the call was not answered and it was not timed out. There may be a small offhook pulse from one of the phones. Sometimes this is due to having too many phones connected in parallel, and sometimes it is due to the effct of just one of the phones which may be having a high leakage current
(During an ALARM dialout. Comfort cuts off the telephones so that it cannot be interrupted by any local phone offhook)

Do a Dial Test (F3,3). This dials all the programmed phones, and allows the dialing progress to be heard on the keypad.
You will hear the system trying to dial but it gets interrupted and restarts.
Now disconnect all the phones from TEL OUT. Now the dialout should work. Now if you connect the house phones one by one, you will find that at one point the dialout will not go through. This helps to indentify the particular phone which causes this.

No changes to the phone system. There is only 1 phone device on the line - a panasonic DECT base.

I pulled the phone out of the wall socket and tried the same procedure as I did earlier. Same result.
I've done a dial test, I hear a dial tone for 3 seconds - then it disappears. A few seconds later Comfort tried to call the numbers - but doesnt do anything because of no dial tone anymore.
I've also disconnected the entire phone system feed to the house after comfort - tried again, same as above. So Comfort is now the only thing connected to the master socket along with the ADSL router (I dont use filters, I used a proper NTE5 DSL socket as used by the BT engineers, where the DSL circuit is filtered and terminated at the NTE5 master)
Oh, and now my Green LED on the KP04  for "Security Off" (left most led) is off.

Can you isolate the Comfort PCB from the mounting metal standoffs, by using a washer or any other insulator, making sure that there is no conducting path between the Comfort PCB and the chassis
Lets see if the problem with greeting messages still persists or not
We have been testing this for some time and are unable to duplicate at all even once

This too, is something we are seeing. Because of the nature of the fault it is often missed but for us the clue has been the message indicator flashing but with no messages left.
Our test system is on Ult 5.054 FW. Has a LEM, RGR, Ethernet UCM, DM01, Internal X10 I/F
Our systems have the HomeControls (HC) casing. Therfore the two CII PCBs are held together with two metal tags. Both of which potentialy tie the PCB ground planes together. When mounted in the HC case one of the tags is grounded to the case. The corner mounting pillairs and screws all seem to mis the ground plane. One further unused pilar remains which could ground the PCB as it sits directly under the X10 connector. In my case I had insulated it with tape anyhow.

What are we trying to achive with the spacers? Apart from potentialy grounding the PCB ground plane to the chaiss I cannot see any aeras where other traces could be grounded. Also there are many other points in the system where comfort logical ground could meet chassis ground (UCMs, DM01) plus installer wiring.
We have now installed isolation spacers on all internal PCB's, DM01, UCM, and Comfort. Also upgaded FW to ULT 5.075.
I'll let you know when it happens again.

Do you lose the Greeting messages, or the recorded messages or both?
We will produce a version with a new event log entry for messages deleted to help find when this happens

Had not checked to see if old messages were there but becasue the greeting message was lost callers could not leave messages anyway.

As an aside for general fault finding it would be nice to have a command that could write text, counters, flags etc. to the event log. The it could also be used to log specific events like doorbell presses etc.
