Hi,
My old Comfort 1 system is still going strong but after some advice.
Currently the versions I have are
UCM : 5.13.1
Panel: 4.144,40,18
File Sys : 18
Vocab : 2
UCM: type 1 vers : 5.013
Are the above the most up to date for my system?
Also what comfort is it a Pro, Entry or Ultra?
I'm currently using version 2 of comfigurator, would it be of any benefit going to version 3 and if so what version.
Are there any recommendations that you would also offer?
Many thanks,
Dave.

Your Comfort system is Comfort 1 Pro firmware 4.144
This firmware was released in 2002 so you system is more than 10 years old
Continue using Comfigurator 2 as there may be compatibility problems with Comfigurator 3
I would recommend an upgrade to Comfort 2 to access the new features
You can upgrade just the Comfort PCB. There is a metal plate ACC-PLATE01 that alows the new pcb to mount into the old enclosure
A new UCM/Ethernet will allow you to use the Comfort iOS and Android apps

Thank you for your reply.
Goes to show how well its made
Being able to use the android/Ios app sounds really useful.
Can you advise or maybe recommend somewhere that could advise what I need to upgrade?
I currently have on my system the:
Ringer module
Light sensor module
X10 module
2 internal keypad
1 external keypad
1 extended zone module
thank youLast edited on Monday Nov 18th, 2013 06:12 am by mccltd

I currently have on my system the:
Ringer module
Light sensor module
X10 module
2 internal keypad

1 extended zone module
See the topic Upgrade compatibility Guide here
http://www.comfortforums.com/forum16/1470.html
You need
RGR05 Ringer to replace the old one
LEM01-M2
The door stations should be OK with Comfort 2
2 keypads may not work well for intercom to the door station. If you only use them for arming and disarming then it does not matter
You can continue to use LSM01 Light sensor module, but there is a Sunrise/Sunset feature with Comfort 2
You can see our distributors on our website http://www.cytech.biz/dealers.php#GB

Firstly we have a large number of Comfort sites and nearly every Comfort 1 that we service or maintain is upgraded to Comfigurator 2 .cclx file. To date we have not had any problems.
The things that Chiu point out are of course very valid - If you are upgrading I would say it would definately be worth while getting at least one new keypad.
One thing about the C1 parts the light sensor - we had so much trouble with this years ago that we tended to fit astronomical time relays they can be purchased for about £40.
If you have the original program you should be able to import it into comfigurator 3 and convert it. IF you dont have much programming then I would suggest starting with a default program we always use our own program with all those unused responses removed so the responses list has no unused responses - make the whole thing much tidier.

I believe Home means he has upgraded Comfort 1 systems to Comfigurator 3 cclx files
He should have more experience than we do, as we do not encounter many Comfort 1 systems anymore so my advice to stick to Comfigurator 2 may not be valid. Gp ahead to convert the file to cclx but keep the original ccl file unchanged just in case

ident apologies yes Comfig 3 of course!
When i say ALL in actual fact we have two comfort 1 installations that are absolutely jam packed full to the last response.... I've chickened out of both of these as they are both working satisfactorily... but both have some rather unusual programming.
If i was asked however i would have no hesitation in upgrading to .cclx
Like ident says make sure you keep the original files. If its a simple program then just start from scratch - if you need a 'clean' .cclx file with no responses just let me know.

Thank you for all your replies Guys.
I'm currently suing version 2.1.0 of comfigurator but am also currently trying to work out what has suddenly changed in my comfort for my lights to be playing around so will try and sort that first but also trying to find a UK disti who has the upgrade package available.
Is there a way to monitor real time what the comfort panel is doing so I can try and find out whats going on.
My program file is a bit of a mess as I used the first original comfort program that was full of commands whilst learning but I don't want to delete any incase I delete the wrong thing.
everything was working fine but something odds happen and my process of illimination is getting me more confused so I need to see what comforts doing.
Basically when the light sensor says its dark
opening the front door then turns on door light,
movement upstairs when dark turns on landing lights.
I have recently put some outside lights near the light sensor that turn on independently to the comfort system when dark.
I thought these were the route of my problem in that now movement upstairs wasn't turning on the landing lights till they outside lights had gone off.
off course I thought the light sensor was thinking it was light due to the outside lights coming on hence why upon movement upstairs and it checking the light sensor it didn't turn the lights on
But the front door still tuns on the door lights as normal even thou its dark outside and the outside lights are on.
Well confused? so am I

For Comfigurator 3, go to View > Monitor I/O and check the box
This opens the Monitor IO window which shows what Comfort is doing
In comfigurator 3 you can "check status" of zones, outputs, flags, Counters
Check that the time in Comfort is correct
You can check if the LSM01 is giving oN or Off to Comfort

Hi,
Ident with regards your last post I have downloaded comfigurator 3 and loaded my ccl into it.
When i turn on the monitor i/o I get commands show when things are happening but how do I decipher what they mean?
For example I just triggered my landing infra red and in the monitor it came up
ip0301
xtl1005
xtl0605
ip0300
Also I found the check status flags but the statuses show as unknown.
Does this only work with a comfort 2 panel?

Thank you ident.
Something in my system is driving me crazy at the moment and I cannot work it out. Especially as I haven't changed anything.
Home could you please send me the clean cclx file. I presume I can load it into my comfort 1 system.
Also with this clean file does anything work? Ie once I have put my codes in will it function as an alarm it will it be totally unusable?

You can get an additional ETH03 submodule or to replace the USB. The submodules can be removed and exchanged. The Eth03 will cost more than USB

hmm can't find the eth03 in the Uk.
Would they be able to change the icm/usb in the kit to a ucm/eth3?
