Hello,
May be more a question for cbus forums, but in wiring a bathroom for cbus lighting (light circuit star wired to node 0 and cbus switch connected only by cbus cable to cbus network), what would be the best way to trigger a traditional bathroom extractor fan in that configuration. How would you get the correct power to the fan without using a traditional switch circuit, ie a separate switch?
One idea i had was to wire the fan to a regular fuse spur and have comfort trigger an x10 microswitch on receiving the bathroom light on event from cbus, but is that the simplest/best way?

NO do NOT use X10
Wire the fan seperately using 3C+E and the correct fan isolator.
Program CBUS to activate the fan (you can either purchase a fan with in built timer or do the timer from CBUS).
In this way you are not reliant on one system to operate another. The wall switch will ALWAYS control the light and fan no matter what Comfort is doing!

So I'd need to wire the fan back to node 0 and trigger from a cbus relay correct? Which will cost more as I would have to purchase a cbus relay. Only have dimmer modules at moment.

I think you may be able to set the dimmer as on or off in toolkit.
i.e. not use it as a dimmer.
This is a far better solution than sending signals all over the place. If anything needs changing or goes wrong in the future you will have forgotten and it will take someone else ages.
