Presumably you have a 'run' of injection moulded plastic frames made for the KP06.

Would it not be possible to use the same tooling to produce a white frame for the LED screen and keypad?

Suspect you will need a little window for the IR LED. Black kinda gets away with it using a smoked window

so which part of the kP06 should be in white to improve it, just the small 1 mm border around the module?

Not sure this is aimed at me anyway but what looks strange IMHO is the modules seem to be sitting proud of the facia by a lot .

the frame you are looking for in white is a GIRA white frame from the E22 range (part number 2882201 which includes the backbox)
I have attached pictures for a kp06 in the alu. frame of the same style

Why is everybody trying so hard NOT to have a white KP06 i simply do not understand.

If the other wall furniture in the roon is all white then a black keypad simply does NOT match.

The whole point of the system 55 and other european face plates are that they are ALL interchangeable. so the likelyhood is that a customer who has paid a premium for a mor sophisticated alarm system will have matching power sockets, switches, touch screens keypads etc etc.

A LARGE majority of inserts for these other items WILL BE IN WHITE.

Chiu - HOW MUCH WOULD IT COST THE NEXT TIME YOU HAVE A BATCH OF PLASTICS MOULDED TO PURCHASE WHITE PELLETS AND HAVE A BATCH OF WHITE SURROUNDS MADE _ ILL PAY FOR IT MYSELF !!!!!!

My question was what exactly should be in white?

Look at your original photo

Or a better picture of the same

What is in black is the thin border around the 2 modules and the LCD Lens

Can the border in white make any diference as to whether the above picture looks good or not?

Or are you also suggesting that the LCD lens also be in white?

More evidence of what though; nobody seems to being specific as to what the actual problem is.

If the nice looking Comfort Keypad is being sullied by the keypad on the left with the very scruffy handwriting then I'd have to agree!

A case of a switch panel "made for radio" IMHO!!

:D

I'd have to agree with Juwi

The scrawled legend is detracting from a well designed KP06

There is proper Labeling software and Labels available from GIRA

On a side note I've never been asked for all white in a residential build E22 aluminium flush is the most popular followed by black with a coloured frame.

I have even offered to pay for the tooling.......

Look the picture is of a GIRA face plate it has as yet not been commissioned that is why they are hand written.

I'm just digging my self a deeper hole here - the fact is the customer in this instance asked for a white surround and insert - ALL off the other wall furniture she has has white inserts.

So why is there a KT06 face plate in white then? Perhaps Chiu can supply us with the numbers of KT06 black and KT06 white surround plates sold last year?

We have been asking exactly what parts you would like to see in white.
Look at the KP06 in white 5 posts back (by ident saying "is that what you had in mind") and let us know if this is what you mean

I think if a white KP06 is to be developed there should be no black at all everything should be white.
the engraved symbols should be grey or black not blue and red

If the trim were to be white then there would be no contrast ?
The black provide a border  otherwise it may seem monotonous

Maybe the trim in a grey or something to contrast instead of the harsh black?
