Hi all,

I am finding the wiring of this a little complicated, I can manage up to the point of connecting J102, it has two connections one says to comfort and one says JP51. what am I supposed to do with these? I thought 1 of them would go to pin 3 on the telephones to generate ring but am not sure which one and what the other one does.

Thanks for the help, the instruction manual is confusing me :)

J102 on the ringer module is connected to the Comfort transformer secondary output.

And J101 on the ringer module is to be connected to the Comfort's board power supply (blue connector) with the label AC14V (if you un-plug this blue connector you will see JP51 label on it ;)).

Neither of them shall go to pin 3?? on the telephones.

When you say the manual is confusing, are you sure you looked at the correct manual  which is at http://www.cytech.biz/rgr05_manual.html?category_id=117

There is a photo showing the connections which should be quite clear

The wire shown in the bottom right is the 15VAC from the transformer Secondary

Hi thanks for the reply, your support is much appreciated.

I have this manual thanks, looking at it and also at the picture attached I have J102 (Top connection) going to AC14V, the problem I have is J101. Where is 15VAC transformer secondary? Is this the main transformer attached to the control panel?

Looking at the manual it shows J102 on the left hand side and J101 on the right hand side in the photo but the diagram then shows them in reverse. this confused me and I can not work out where / how it needs to connect to the transformer.

I'm sure it will be obvious once you point it out.

Hi Originally the panel came with the connector for AC14v prewired into the block, I thought I simply attached the cables into this and then down to J102, looking at the image and your comments should I have removed the wires from AC14V that come from the transformer and put these into J101 then J102 supplies the power to AC14V?

Looking at you image you only have 1 set of wires going into AC14V but I have 2.

Thanks it may be that I am confused as the block was pre-wired and I didn't realise that I had to remove this.

The RGR05 manual does state that J101 and J102 are in parallel, ie they are the same so it does not matter if you use J101 or J102 for connection to the transformer secondary

Basically 2 sets of the 2 pin terminal block (J101 and J102) are provided for convenience so that the transformer secondary can be connected to one terminal block and the other terminal block can be wired to Comfort AC In JP51

You can also keep the Transformer secondary connected to AC IN (JP51) as originally wired and connect in parallel to J101 OR J102.

OR you can remove the AC IN terminal block from Comfort AC IN JP51 and connect it to J101 OR J102 and then connect another pair of wires from J102 to Comfort AC IN JP51.  This is purely for convenience

I hope this is clear now

Thanks that makes it clear now.

Thanks for all the help, I think I would be stuffed without your support
